On the rear where the power adapter plugs in, it should show in input voltage and polarity. Check the power supply output voltage with a volt meter. Generally, it is the sum total of all the batteries, so it if takes 4xAA @1.5 volt batteries the voltage would be 6 volts DC. It sounds like it is faulty.

Hi I'm Peter,If you keep trying without taking the battery out between trys to dump the memory a lot of these will keep the first stored code and not change it even though you think it is. I ran into the same problem. I have been searching as well, to date, it still won't power on even after replacing the battery, getting a charger and charging the old battery. I also used the reset button and no help. I asked Grundig / Eton for help a couple of times and no response. Very disappointing, it is like Grundig isn't around any more or won't support their own products any more.

If this is happening on all the channels I think you will need a total reset. If so open menu and check the settings for child lock when you manually tune. An option is to reset the channels once again after the lock is opened. Choose a new channel scan to reset the memory. However if the lock seems to be only on specified channels you can open the settings of the channel and unlock on the menu.
