Makes buzzing sound and no picture lamp? - Samsung HLR5667W 56" Rear Projection HDTV

This is a projection tv correct?Yes?The old projection lamp has not been replaced like 1 1/2 or 2 years?Tv in used daily like 4 or 5 hours everydays?Yes?Tv make buzzing sound and bell sound on and off.The tv on the frame the word "LAMP" the LED light indication it is flashing or stay on lit?Yes?Then the tv projection lamp life have ended,tv require a new projection lamp.

sounds like the lamp or ballast, check the lamp first to see if good, then if good, then probably the ballast is bad, but I think the sound or buzzing is coming from the ballast, so it's should be good.

First. The whirring or buzzing sound you hear is the Color Wheel and it needs to be replaced. Second, since I do not know when and if the original lamp has been replaced it is a good idea to replaced the lamp. The bad Color Wheel is the one causing the set to shut down.

What it sound's like is that the lamp ballast is the problem. Buzzing sounds like when the power is first brought to the ballast it has to ramp up the voltage to get the lamp to light, then the voltage drops back down when the lamp is lit. Sounds like the lamp ballast isn't ramping up the voltage the way it should. May have to replace it. A good service shop would be able to do this for you.

Is the bulb light flashing ? - Sony's bulb light is very accurate in telling you if the bulb is bad. The buzzing sound could be from the balist trying to strike the lamp. You also may want to open the lamp door and see if the bulb is shattered.

My Sony lost its picture and had a flashing light. Unplugging for 36 hours solved the problem.

It sounds as if the lamp needs to be replaced. The buzzing sound you hear is the ballast attemting to fire the lamp.

Possible bad color wheel...

Pull the lamp out & look inside where the lamp sends the light-

does the color wheel look defective? If so,replace it.

Or, the lamp ballast may be bad.After that,usually replace

complete engine.
