I assume you have a cable or a DSL modem connectec by a LAN cable to the wireless router.
Have you checked you with your ISP to see if the connection yo your modem is OK?
Have you check the LAN cable from the modem to the wireless router is good and it in plugged into the WAN/Internet port on the wireless router?
Have you installed the latest wireless card driver in the computer/laptop?

For instructions on setting up the wireless router and the wireless card in the computer/laptop, please follow my instructions - click on this link :-

Can't have connection with modem

One of the most common reasons for Internet connection problems is incorrect login information. When your computer locates the network put out by your D-Link wireless router, you will be required to enter login information if the network is secured. The DIR-615 model supports WPA and WPA2 security information; if you can't connect, ensure that you do not have WEP security selected on the network settings

I am connected to a DIR 615, it says I have wireless connection but it won't connect wireless, if I connect a cable it is fine??

Hi mike63771,

All you need to do is to set it up properly. Make sure that the router is connected to the computer using an ethernet cable so that the computer will be able to communicate with the router. Then open a browser type 192.168.0.1 on the address bar. The default username is admin and the password is blank. Go to the Wireless Settings Page then check the SSID or Network Name and the Network Key or Passphrase. Now try to connect to your computer. Click on Start then click on Connect To. Select your Network Name then if it ask you to enter a password enter the Network Key. You can personalize the network key on the router settings page.

DIR-615 Wireless Router: i have a d-link wireless router dir 615 that i've ...

if youve changed the password on the router since the other computers logged onto the network, then you need to delete the network history from those computers.
Otherwise those laptops will be trying to connect to the network with the old details.

DELETE PREVIOUS G ROUTER FILES AND PROGRAMS, RESET YOU ROUTER AND INSTALL THE LATEST FIRMWARE FOR YOUR ROUTER, CHECK TO UNBLOCK ROUTER FROM FIRE WALL. ALSO LOG IN TO ROUTER BROWSER AND CHECK THE MBITS/SEC VALUE SHOULD BE EQUAL OR UNDER YOUR INTERNET PROVIDERS GIVEN SPEED. IF IT TRANSMITS ON WRONG MBITS/SEC SPEED CONNECTION WILL NOT ESTABLISH.
