The proximity sensor does not sense when the machine is not full and does not make more cubes. Since Franklin chef is bankrupt, don't know where to get parts

Franklin FIM35 continues water alarm even days after water drained.

I searched and searched for a fix and here was mine. The sensor wire was shorting out on the drip pan (which was not wet to the touch) above the compressor causing the alarm. I removed the clip and re-rigged it so the bare wire is not touching the sidewall but is positioned so that it could still sensor and alarm in an actual overfill.
