I don't know how to make my computer (HP Pavillion Laptop dv9420) running on Windows Vista Home Premium recognized my Panasonic NV-GS15 in order to download and edit my movie from the tape (I have Roxio movie editor in my PC, but can't recognized the NV-GS15 either)
Do I need driver? I can't find this driver from the package.
Do I need firewire?
Many thanks, guru!!
Solution A: make sure you are using the correct cable for what you are doing (eg USB for webcam and importing photos and Firewire for transferring video footage
most desktops have firewire plug in them but laptops don't usually
to get a firewire plug in a laptop you need a PCMCIA to Firewire Cardbus (ask your local retail store for one or buy one on ebay etc.)
after that put the cardbus in your PCMCIA slot and restart
then go to Windows Movie Maker and press "capture from video device"
hope this helps!
