Is the Drum unit clean?
Often the Drum Maintenance kit can get dirty, and not clean the Drum properly, which can lead to jams.
Also, the drive cam for the Drum Maintenance kit can fail. This means not enough cleaning pressure is applied to the Drum unit, and it can't clean it properly, causing jams.

good luck

Intermittent paper jams

Take your paper tray out, and open the paper path door.
Take a soapy cleaner and some alcohol and clean every roller you can see. The gray rubber ones espicially.
If that doesnt cure it, then most likely the registration clutch should be replaced.

Timing, jams or prints off bottom of page

Hi hotpress:
Try these steps.
Print transfer jams
1.
If a piece of paper is trapped in the paper preheater, try pushing out the paper by
inserting a stiff piece of cardstock into the paper preheater.
2. Using diagnostics, test the paper preheater sensors. If the test fails, replace the
paper/drum heater assembly.
3. Check to see if the upper feed roller drive belt is broken or slipped off of its pulleys. In
such a case, the upper feed roller does not rotate when the lower feed roller rotates.
4. Check that the feed rollers rotate smoothly and that the front cover is fully closed and
seated.
5. Check the paper-eject path for obstructions. Ensure no small pieces of paper are
trapped around the stripper fingers or rapid release guide.
6. Ensure that the transfix roller rotates during the transfix process. See SF168 and
SB467.
7. Test the sensors in the paper path. Look for damaged or non-operating sensor flags.
8. Check the transfix solenoid and its cam. Ensure they operate correctly and are properly
lubricated. If lubrication is needed, apply a dab of grease to the contact point between
the cam and the latch and the cam and the cam-advanced spring. Refer to
"Lubrication" on page 6-177.
9. A stripper finger, or rapid release guide, jam can occur because of broken teeth on the
small section of the back-side of the compound gear. The root cause of this may be also
be due to a lack of transfix cam grease. If you find broken teeth on the compound gear,
check for proper lubrication of the transfix cam. Be careful to ensure that no grease
touches the Y-axis belts. If the belts get contaminated with grease they must be
replaced. wipe off any excess grease to prevent it from dripping onto the belts.

Hope this helps

Xerox phaser 7700 having problems printing transparencies and accumulator belt problems

Hi xander4265:
I
Streaks in direction of paper travel
There are dark lines running along
the page in the direction of paper
travel from the leading edge to the
trailing edge (B-size print shown).
The printer displays no error code.
Note A-size prints are processed
through the printer with the short
edge of the print parallel to the
direction of the paper path --
making horizontal print artifacts
parallel to the shot edge of the
print.
B-size prints are processed
through the printer with the long
edge of the print parallel to the
paper path -- making horizontal
artifacts parallel to the long axis
of the print.
1. Check the end of life for each of
the consumables by printing the
supplies usage page. From the front panel’s Printable Pages Menu, select
Print Supplies Page.
2. Run the solid fill test pages; From the front panel’s Printable Pages Menu,
select Service Pages, then select Print Solid Fill Pages. If the missing bands
only occur in a single primary color, replace the print cartridge of the affected
color.
3. Swap print cartridges and run another test print.
Note Under some circumstances, streaking may occur in the margin of
SRA3-size paper. This is due to the edges of the paper extending
beyond the end of the imaging components. print-quality in the
margins of SRA3 paper is not guaranteed.
4. Inspect the Accumulator Belt cleaner; replace the cleaner, if necessary.
5. Run the Remove Print Smears routine. From the front panel’s Support Menu,
select Improve Print-Quality?, then select Remove Print Smears.
6. Replace the Developer Housing Assembly (RRP 27, on page 7-171).
7. Remove the print cartridge and (with a flashlight) check for debris along the
edge of the developer housing.

PAPER CRINKLING

First check the paper path for something in the paper path. Staple, paper clip, etc, causing the paper to twist. Reseat the imaging unit and see if the transfer unit is seated properly.
But, What sounds most likely is that the fuser needs to be replaced. The rollers are most likely getting pretty bad inside that unit.
If I recall correctly, it is in the $200 range to replace.

Power up Issues

I am suffering from the same problem and I called Xerox. The problem is your control panel and this is a known defect for this printer. My replacement os on its way. It appears that if you take off the control panel, you can find a bad soldier joint.
