I have a tv that has smartlock on it. How can i default the settings.

If you have forgot your smartlock code, try making a new one. Use a code that is more memorable. I hope this helps your problem!!!

Philips sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for Philip sets is 0711, although it may say "Incorrect code" the first time to trick you. If "Incorrect code" is displayed, simply enter 0711 again. To use it hit the MENU key to get to the menus. Go up or down until you reach AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK, depending on the model, and push the "right arrow" key on the remote. Enter the override code, and enter it a second time if it says it is incorrect.
Once in the AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK menu, go to BLOCK, and push the "right arrow" key. Go to BLOCKING OPTIONS and press the "right arrow" key. Go to MASTER DISABLE and press the "right arrow" key so that it says "MASTER DISABLE ON". The v-chip is now reset.

I assumes that you did gorget the code that you have set to Smart lock, and posts this solution.
If you ever forget you smartlock code, enter [ 0,7,1,1 ] code is the factory default, and can be used to enter and create a new acess code. OK.

Press the "Menu" button on the remote to reveal the on screen menu, then press the cursor up or down until the option labeled "Features" is highlighted. Once the features menu is highlighted, press the cursor up or down buttons until the phrase ''Smartlock'' is highlighted. Next, press the cursor right button until it shows the phrase ''access code;'' on the access code screen, press 0, 7, 1 and 1 again. When the phrase ''incorrect code'' appears, enter a ''new code'' by selecting a four number code of your choice; this code will be used to control all functions related to the Smartlock code feature.

Your Dell tV can be unlocked by reseting it to factory reset.
To reset it to factory reset do the folloing.

Enter the TV main Menu.
Select Factory Reset to return the TV Menu settings to the factory default values

NOTE: Before you proceed with the Factory Reset, enter a four-digit access code. The Factory Reset and
Parental Control always share the same access code. The default Parental Control code is 3355
NOTE: Parental Control setting can be reset by doing factory reset


If you ar unable to do this proceedings, do the unlock method used for Philips, and your TVs kit is of Philips.

I found this info at a tech website, but I haven't tried it myself (never have used parental lock on any set).

Philips sets use 0711 as the override code to defeat parent lock. You may need to enter the code twice if it says "invalid code" the first time.

Using the remote control:

Press the MENU key. Scroll up or down until you reach AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK. Press the "right arrow" key. Enter code 0711. Enter it again if it says invalid code.

Once in the AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK menu:

Scroll to BLOCK. Press the "right arrow" key. Scroll to BLOCKING OPTIONS. Press the "right arrow" key. Scroll to MASTER DISABLE. Press the "right arrow" key. This should unlock the parental control.

Chek in the back of the tv if there is a tiny button, probalbly that you have to use a ball pen to hit it, that says "RESET". press and hold it for 10 seconds an release it.

Press VOL+ (on the remote) and the CH+ button on the front of the TV at the same time. 6. Press the Number buttons to enter a four-digit code. The code will appear on the screen as you enter it. The code "0000" is the default of the TV. If you have not set up a code previously,then "0000" is the code.You cannot use "0000" after you set your own code (unless you reset the code to "0000"). 7. Press MENU to save the code.
