I have a compaq presario m2000 notebook pc recently had to re install windows xp but had no driver cd. i downloaded some drivers and installed them but not all work. i need to find a audio drive and when i try to install from compaq.com it seems to download fine but ends saying FAILED. can you help? dh

I think you are missing this fix which usually occured in new laptop.Download this fix and installed the audio driver.

I have formatted my Compaq Presario M2000 notebook acidentally, no recovery CD with this notebook when purchased, I have call the dealer and they replied because it's the product of five years ago, no...

One solution is to install a free OS like Unix. You could also download a pirated version of Windows XP and install it. In either case you need all the appropriate drivers.
As you know, you could also buy a legitimate version of XP but it still would not have your drivers.

You may consider all this too much work and just buy a new computer.
