No reset is necessary to fix this problem. Screen rotation is a typical feature on many laptops. To rotate the display on the screen 180 degrees, simply press CTRL, ALT & down arrow on your laptop's keyboard.
There is no Fn-Fx key combination to change screen resolution (at leat on my R10 running Windows XP. Even if you create a shortcut to open the graphics properties you still have to open the relevant tab manually to change resolutions. You can open the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 for mobile icon on the tray, go to the graphic properties change the resolution and save as a scheme. With a customized scheme defined you will be able to click the Intel Graphic properties and select that scheme. But be careful, your tablet pen will no longer be calibrated with the available screen area. I tried on my R10 (native resolution 1024x768) and all I could select was 800x600@ 60Hz.
1. Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + arrow (left, right, up or down) to rotate the screen.
2.Press
the hotkeys and arrow keys until you have the desired rotation. This
works with most video drivers on Windows XP. If this doesn't work let us know.
Hello snapshots,
Here is what you do:
1) Click on a blank area of the desktop (not sure why, but sometimes this is necessary).
2) Press the toolbox button on your monitor. It is located in between the rotate screen button and the secondary "Esc" button. A tablet shortcut menu should appear in the middle of your screen.
3) Select "Settings" at the bottom left of the menu. This will open a "Customize Tablet Shortcut Menu Settings" Window.
4) In the "Auto Screen Rotation" portion of the window, make sure the "Enable ActiveRotate" box is checked.
5) If you choose, you may also want to click the "Calibrate" button. This will step you through customizing the ActiveRotate to your personal preference.
6) Click "Apply" and then "Ok".
Please note, that with the internal wi-fi connection enabled, you cannot use the X61 in tablet mode in certain orientations. Nothing bad will happen if you attempt to do this; but you will notice a message popup telling you this, as well as having the screen automatically switch orientations on you. This is normal and has something to do with the wi-fi antenna location.
Hope that helps!
Jeff
