My watch had the same problem and i could never figure out what it was so i just lived with it for a couple of years. then, just recently even when my watch was getting plenty of sun the battery would die in the evening and shut off at night. so i replaced the battery and evrything works great. even the light which leads me to believe the solar panel is just a gimmick. i have an old g-shock watch that i bought in 1989 and it still works and is on the origional battery. my gw 300 is about 5 years old and needed a battery. i guess 5 years on a battery is prety good but i would rather have it last for 19 years like my old one.

Where to start? First of all your solar watch has a rechargeable battery and should be changed with a new rechargeable. A regular battery may work for a time but may also destroy the watch if decides to burst from being charged when it should not be. Your old battery lasted a long time but not 19 years. The shelf life, in other words the life of a battery that is still in the package is 9 years. It lasted long enough you don't remember when you changed it and that is a good thing. Batteries don't last 19 years however. 5 years is a reasonable time to expect a battery in a watch to last. There are watches that the battery only lasts 1 year. The Bulova tuning fork watches for example.

My Casio Gw-300 is not receiving the satelite signal to receive daylight savings time. The display is not showing the satelite dish or any bars in the receiving indicator

I'm having the same problem. It's been working fine for about 4 years and now there are no bars or the picture of the satellite. There is a little "C" or "[" next to where it should be though. Maybe that is some sort of error message? I left it in my window for three days straight to get full days of sunlight and the battery is full but still no signal. Did something happen to the atomic signal carriers? Or is my watch finally dead?

Casio G-Shock GW-300 replacement bands

I have a Casio g-shock gw-330a and now find myself again replacing the band. So far, $60 on bands. They last me two or three years. To install the band, take the band and watch to a Jeweler. My local Sears does it for me. $5 for installation; $5 for purchase shipping; $20 for band. $30 every couple of years.
This cost disturbs me.

Casio G-Shock GW-300 2608

Change the battery. This happened with mine along with the battery needing charging more frequently. In my opinion, Casio's assertions that you won't need to change the battery is pretty much of a joke. My jewler concurred.

After changing the battery I can now press the light switch button and the watch works normally.
