Recently purchased new home, pilot light on the boiler was not lit and we had hot water pretty much instantly but no heating. I light the pilot light and now we have to wait up to 5-10mins to get hot water and the radiators get hot too. Is this normal?
Hi - hope someone can help. I have a VOKERA EXCEL 80SP combi boiler and been without hot water/central heating for two days. The pilot light is on, the fan is on, but boiler not triggering once the hot water tap is turned on.
Hopefully someone come to look at it today but hoping for some advice. Anyone else had this problem?
Thank you.
You sure it was not lit because without being lit the boiler should not light the main burner [the pilot flame heats a thermo couple which when hot tells the boiler it's ok to let the main gas supply go the main burner]
Have you a hot water cylinder, separate from the boiler, say in the bathroom
If so I suspect the original hot water supply was from this and activated/heated by an immersion heater
%-10 mins for radiators to heat up can be slow but normal
