Try to disconnect the main power to the unit and if the water valve is still open and water is running, you have a bad valve (the valve stuck open). Tap on the valve body it may help on sticking it, if not replace it.
You may be able to use filters from the stove overhead filters.Stove suppliers sell filters which can be cut to size.
The filters are usually the same as those used for air conditioners.
Yes, this solenoid is "Normally Closed". That means that when energized, the solenoid opens the valve to allow water to flow. Otherwise it is closed. Unfortuneately, that doesn't always happen, and there soes not seem to be a pat answer as to why. I spoke with the mfgr (Kip) and they offered plentyof "maybe's" but nothing firm.
What's worse is that I can not find any one or store that stocks or sells these, and Kip's lead time is 4-6 weeks.
I have a Honeywell humidfier HE 220A with a KIP U147112 valve. Will turning the large screw head on the valve decrease the volume of water flow through the humidifier. Too much water is being wasted.
The screw does turn and will open the valve, take the hex nut off and turn the screw to see if water leaks between the valve portion and the hexnut housing. They used that same valve on many models, including the newer models. Make sure you are getting water to the valve.
