Dell dimension e310 desk top will not power on

your dell needs a network adapter card or wireless card installed is that the case(look in b ack)

if no wireless, then it needs an ethernet cable plugged into modem/router from cin bell and then in back of dell

please advise your network configuration

An Amber blinking power button indicates a low voltage problem. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Since you replaced the power supply, my guess is that the motherboard has a problem.
Just to make sure that nothing else is causing the problem, remove any PCI cards like modem, video card, sound card, etc... Remove the memory modules and disconnect cables to CD/DVD drives. Look at the USB ports to see if any are damaged.

depends . either the video card or motherboard see if the blue video connector is at the top or twords the bottom of the case and that will tell you if it's a card or integrated on the board.

That's a possibility, but have you tried checking that everything is connected behind the stack? I wouldn't go into major surgery on your computer until you rule out all the simple ideas. It could just be the monitor too.

Generally, the 1 and 2 Diagnostic LEDs indicate a failure of a PCI expansion card.

So remove any expansion cards, see if anything changes. If it does, one of the PCI cards is suspect.
If the system has an expansion video card in the PCI-E slot, and removing the PCI cards had no effect, remove the PCI-E video card and connect to the intergrated video port (You may have to remove a black cover from the port) and see if you get video. If you do, then the Expansion video card has failed.

if the power button was blinking amber, unplug your tower, and hold the power button for 30 seconds to 1 minute, to use any excess power stored in the capassitors in the pc. this was told to me by a dell tech, it is a small issue with the 3100=E310, and 5150=E510 Dimension desktops

here are a few things to try.
remove the power lead from the computer, for 5-10 minutes then reconnect.
press and hold the power button, for more than 3-5 seconds, incase the system has gone into hibernation/standby mode.
Remove any un-necessary connected devices ( usb powered Printers-cameras et,c )
