White arched lines appearing on dark/black screens.

The TV is working great except for one thing:
No matter what the source, DVD, DirecTV, Wii, white arched lines appear on dark/black screens. They are probably there when there is a picture but practically invisible unless you look very hard. Can I adjust these out?

It sounds like you are seeing the vertical retrace for all three colors together (white). Its possible that all three screen adjustments (red, green, blue) are off, but I suspect a problem with the screen power supply.
there is also a recall on this set

Wii plays in black and white.

Check if the tv has different types of AV settings, as this affects whether the wii plays in black and white or colour.

Try # 2... Green Fog

The green gun in your picture tube is set a little too high. If you are experienced in removing the back cover of TV's,etc., you may try to find the drive and/or bias controls either on the circuit board that plugs on to the neck of the picture tube or mounted on the main circuit board of your TV. These controls are usually labeled. If you can find them, locate the green bias or drive control and back it down a little while watching the picture through a mirror. A slight adjustment may correct your problem.tJIS IS CALLED GRAY SCALE ADJUSTMENT. BE CAREFUL THERE ARE SOME HIGH VOLTAGE CIRCUITS NEARBY. WORK WITH ONE HAND AND USE AN INSULATED TOOL TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS I hope this may help you.AGAIN BE CAREFUL!! Stargazer
