I have a infocus 4805 projector the bulb quit on me due to over heating i guess, any way it cracked and burnt out. I ordered a new bulb which i received and installed. I watched half a movie and had to leave for work. I properly shut down the equipment, when i returned a few days later to watch the movie the projector light will not turn on. the bulb tryes to fire the 5 times then the green light turns red flashing once. the connections are good, fan runs and exchanges air and the lamp door switch is made. do you also know the voltage for the lamp .. ?

First thing's first- clean the dust out of the projector with canned air. excessive dust and heat are death to a projector. then check the colorwheel. if you don't hear a high-pitched whir or you hear a buzzing, the colorwheel needs to be replaced. the lamp won't strike without it. next check both fans. you may need to take the top off to do it. if both fans don't spin properly, it will overheat. many times the larger fan (lamp fan) will burn out or the circuit that starts it burns out. next, check the new lamp. does it have black spot, bulges, or fogging? if so, you'll need to replace it. if you do have to, don't get the cheapest one from "bob's lamps" online. you get what you pay for. if all that is ok, then you have a bad power supply. it's rare that this model has ps issues, but it's not unheard of. you could get the part(s) from an infocus service center, or send it in to them for repair. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

Just replaced burnt out bulb in Infocus 4805 projector. Great picture with new bulb but only black and white. Is this a bulb issue or something else in the projector?

This is most likely the color wheel. When the bulb blows, it can damage the color wheel. The color wheel is a wheel composed of thin layers of colored glass that spins in front of the projected image. It is possible to repair it with super glue, but the best way is to try to find a new one to buy.

My Infocus 4805 is just showing the INFOCUS logo and not showing the picture from the TV. all connections are correct but no signal....help

Powering On
  • If your InFocus 4805 projector is having a hard time powering on or doesn't power on at all, it could be one of two things. Due to the extreme temperature of the lamp that causes the temperature of the projector to rise, every InFocus 4805 projector has a cooling system. Check your projector's cooling solution, as it may need to be replaced. Also check the projector's fan---if the fan doesn't spin, the unit will not turn on. If the problem is the fan, you'll have to get it replaced. You can do this at the same place you bought your projector.
  • The Lamp
  • If your InFocus 4805 Projector powers on but does not project any light, the lamp will need to be replaced. All projector lamps must be replaced at some point---how often usually depends on how much use the device gets. Simply order a replacement lamp, unscrew the old one and screw the new one in. The projector will then work like new.
  • Color Wheel
  • If your InFocus 4805 projector powers on and is displaying images but the colors on the images appear warped or are not in the proper places, your "color wheel" will need to be replaced. The color wheel is a small device that essentially acts like a prism. Light is projected through it and it displays the appropriate colors on screen the way they appear in the original video source. Order a replacement color wheel that fits your model and use your instruction manual as a guide as you swap the old one out and put the new one in.

How do i find out if i need a new lamp for my infocus 4805. when i turn it on the fan blows for a cpl secs and the green light blinks a few times, but i dont get anything saying the lampis out

when you power it on, do you hear a high-pitched whir? if not, you need to replace the colorwheel. it's also the colorwheel if you hear a buzzing instead. if the colorwheel does not spin, the lamp won't come on. if the colorwheel is ok, check the lamp. is the screen on the side of the lamp clogged with dust? is the inside of the lamp bulging, spotted, or foggy? if so, replace the lamp and clean out your projector with canned air. dust blocks air flow and keeps in the heat. this shortens the life of your lamp and projector. if you do need the colorwheel replaced, you could get the part from an infocus service center and do it yourself, or send it in for repair. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

Infocus 4805 Lamp will not ignite after new bulb and reset.

it there is no high-pitched squeal when it starts up, the colorwheel needs replacing. the lamp won't light without it. the part is under $50, but installation is quite involved.
