First thing's first- clean the dust out of the projector with canned air. excessive dust and heat are death to a projector. then check the colorwheel. if you don't hear a high-pitched whir or you hear a buzzing, the colorwheel needs to be replaced. the lamp won't strike without it. next check both fans. you may need to take the top off to do it. if both fans don't spin properly, it will overheat. many times the larger fan (lamp fan) will burn out or the circuit that starts it burns out. next, check the new lamp. does it have black spot, bulges, or fogging? if so, you'll need to replace it. if you do have to, don't get the cheapest one from "bob's lamps" online. you get what you pay for. if all that is ok, then you have a bad power supply. it's rare that this model has ps issues, but it's not unheard of. you could get the part(s) from an infocus service center, or send it in to them for repair. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com
