You can improve feeding and Avoid paper jams in your OKI printer, by following these simple steps:
Loading the Paper: When loading paper, fan the stack of paper before placing it in the tray. This will shake out any paper dust and reduce any static in the paper, two major causes of paper mis-feeds.
- Place the paper in the tray under the tabs.
- Do not fill above the "PAPER FULL" mark.

Recommended Media: Use paper specified for the printer
When printing on heavy / thick types of paper, it is best to use the manual feed tray at the front of the printer.This will Provide a straighter paper path to Prevent potential paper jams.

E4= paper jam. Check all your feed areas and make sure they are clear. Then reset your printer and begin you print again. If all areas are clear and your still getting an E4 reading you may have damaged a sensor clearing a previous paper jam. If a reset wont clear your error then your printer may need to be repaired. See also this page, as I have no great confidence in the links I get from canon, their website is so backwards. Sorry I can't offer you much more, but just try to get all the bits out. Sometimes a pointy tool on a vacuum will help. Otherwise, maybe you can wrap and tape a post-it note around a popsicle stick or something to reach the paper and try to coax it out, or maybe a bit of folded tape on the end of a ruler or something like that. If you get a paper jam, the Paper Jam indicator light promptsyou to clear the paper path. If the paper has just started to feed from thepaper feeder when the jam occurs, pull the paper straight up out of the paper feeder. Open and close the printer cover toresume printing. If the paper jam occurs inside the printer, remove the paper from the output bin. Turn the printeroff, then on. Points to there being paper stuck in the feed rollers, if you have cleared the jam, there may be a shred of paper still stuck, try to examine and remove.

If it IS fully clear and the indicatiors still show a paper jam, check the feed rollers are making contact with the paper, that the paper detector has not been bent upwards ( fooling the printer into thinking that there is still a jam).

Try rebooting the printer, if the problem still shows, this is a job for a qualfied technician

The simplest thing would be to try unplugging the printer from the power source. Let it rest for 5 - 10 minutes then plug back in to the power supply and see if that resolves the problem.

If not you are going to need to do a thorugh inspection to verify that all paper remnants have been removed.

The following is for the MP600:

Paper jams inside the printer

1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord and USB cable.
   
   
2. Remove the jammed paper slowly using the following procedure.

Clearing credit card-sized paper jammed inside the printer
Credit card-sized and 4" x 6" sized paper must be loaded properly. If this media is not loaded properly, it will feed into the printer and will not exit. Credit card-sized paper should only be loaded in the ASF and in portrait orientation. 4" x 6" sized paper can be loaded in the ASF or cassette. But must be loaded portrait orientation.
If credit card-sized paper was loaded in landscape orientation in the ASF and did not eject (exit), please follow this procedure.

1. Turn off the printer.
   
   
2. Load the same paper type that is jammed inside the printer in portrait orientation.
   
   
   
   
3. Power on the printer.
   The paper stock in the ASF will automatically feed the jammed paper from the printer.
   
   
4. To resume printing, load the paper in portrait orientation.

If 4" x 6" sized paper was loaded in landscape orientation in the cassette and did not eject (exit), please follow this procedure.

1. Turn off the printer.
   
   
2. Open the rear cover.
   
   
3. Fold in four a piece of letter-sized plain paper.
   
   
4. Push in the folded paper until it hits the jammed paper.
   
   
   
   
5. If the jammed paper is visible from inside the printer area, pull it out and proceed to step 7.
   
   
6. If the jammed paper cannot be pulled out, push in the folder paper from the rear so the jammed paper is in between the feed rollers.

9. To resume printing, load the paper in portrait orientation.

Explanation of the paper jam message

A 241.09 Paper Jam message indicates that the printer thinks a sheet of paper has jammed at the front of the printer. The jammed sheet of paper is most likely to be found in one of the paper trays or under the toner cartridge.
NOTE: If you select Show areas on the operator panel, you can view one or more images to help you locate and clear the jam.

Clearing the jam
To resolve the paper jam message, you must first clear the entire paper path. To access the jam area, you will need to open one or more of the paper trays. Follow the steps in the table below to help you locate and clear the jam.
Step Action Image 1 Open the printer paper tray (tray 1), and remove any jammed media you find there. 2 Open the front cover and remove the toner cartridge. Examine the area inside the printer and remove any jammed media you find there. 3 If you have a duplex option installed, also remove the duplex access tray and remove any jammed media you find there. 4 If you were printing from an optional paper tray, such as tray 2 or tray 3, open any optional trays, starting at the top, and remove any jammed media. Pull the print media either up or down. If it does not pull easily one way, try the other way 5 If you are printing from an optional 2000-sheet feeder, open the front door. Press the elevator button (A) to lower the tray. Remove any partially fed media from the feeder.
NOTE: Make sure the stack of print media is straight and pushed all of the way into the feeder. Incorrectly loaded paper is the most common cause of paper jams from a 2000-sheet feeder option.
