The LCD monitor setting was lost after changed battery pack

Canon Powershot SD 110 digital camera was showing the message 'change battery pack'. I put a new battery pack and is the correct one, charged first, however the LCD monitor is blank. The manual says that it could happen, but it does not say how to fix it. Thanks

Take a picture with the new battery pack. Is the picture also blank? Are the menu selections still visible in the LCD? Have you tried pressing the DISP button on the back, but the screen still remains blank?

If the answer is yes to these three questions, this sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Canon Powershot SD780 - Change the Battery Pack!!! AARRRGGGHH!!

Actually, the problem here is that there isn't enough pressure on the battery. You need to put a small piece of cardboard on the battery facing the door to the battery chamber. That will force the battery onto the contacts a bit more.
Give it a try. It should work. That's how I got rid of the same error message.

CAMERA MESSAGE SD790 IS

Well, I haven't used a Canon PowerShot SD790 IS Digital Camera before, but I want to suggest this: before you start thinking of putting your camera apart, try to clean the battery terminals and the battery contacts of the camera with clean white paper, then reinsert the pack. Please be very careful when doing this so that you do not break or bend the contacts or terminals; they are usually delicate material.

Card locked

So I got the same error message a few weeks ago. I bought a card reader and a software program that is supposed to recover lost/deleted/corrupt files but to no avail.

I have tried the SD card on my sister's camera (same Canon powershot) and it doesnt work. I have tried my sister's SD card on my camera and it does work so it is not my camera. It is clearly the SD card with an error.

What can i do, i cant lose these pics!!

Thanks anyone who might have an idea.

P.S. The SD card itself is UNLOCKED.

Change battery pack

How old is your battery? The rechargeable LI-ion battery is only meant to last a couple years at most. If your battery is a couple years old (or longer) it's probably time to consider a new battery.

Fortunately, due to the popularity of Canon cameras, generic versions of the NB-4L battery for your camera are widely available. This makes them very inexpensive. Recommend looking for one on Amazon with good user ratings. Here's some suggestions.

You have it on a filter setting that extracts color...go into the menu and scroll to filters and change the setting.

Canon powershot SD 550 Digital Elf

Have you actually replaced the battery or not? You said you tried ordering batteries. You can buy an SD550 battery on ebay for about $6.00

Also, the battery charger may be the problem. The charger has sensitive electronics on beaord that can be damged by a power surge, even normal use can eventually take its toll.

The battery will always hold enough power for the camera to to say "please Change The Battery Pack" on the LCD screen.

The camera would never allow the battery to become completely drained, as that would damage the battery.

Last but not least, put some alcohol on a cotton swab and carefully clean the battery contacts inside the camera's battery compartment.

Good luck
