I moved files to a hard drive, and deleted them from the camera drive using the icons on my MAC OS X, just moving the video file icons to the trash on the computer screen. Now the camera says "No Video Files" when I access it on the screen, but when I turn it on to record, it says "Video Files Full" and will not record.
I have used Reset, but that doesn't help. How can i reset the camera memory? Thanks!
On page 39 of the instruction manual it tells you how to format both the hard drive or the SD card. If you do not have a copy of the manual here is the link:
http://books.jvcservice.com/booklist.asp?Model=GZ-MG21
click the "instruction manual which is the fourth choice...
also be sure any medium (HD, SD) is UNLOCKED when doing this. If you do not weant to completely format see page 40.
And for your comfort, a Mac does not convert anything on the camera. But for the future, don't drag and drop into the trash bin, use delete on the camera. This is the same problem I've seen w/others but calling Apple-who blames it on the PC format-who blames it on the Mac-and both blame it on JVC, gets you nowhere. This is very typical when multiple companies are involved.

Ok try formatting the harddrive on the camcorder, you might have messed up the filse system
file system << sorry for the typing error
usually camers are fat32 partitioned , mac must have changed the boot patrern to that of the mach hence your camcorder might not be able to write to it, just format it and that should solve your problem..
in the menu or setup of your camcorder there should be an option to format it..
sir you didnt rate the solution
