I'VE LOST MY INSTALL CD FOR MY LEXMARK X2500 ALL-IN-ONE PRINTER & EVERY TIME I TRY TO DOWNLOAD IT FROM MANUFACTUER IT WON'T INSTALL IT SAYS IT'S "NOT A VALID WIN32 APPLICATION" I'M USING XP.
I tried this driver (download it here http://www.techspot.com/drivers/driver/file/information/9039/) and it worked fine.
Maybe you downloaded a win64 driver, i dont know, let me know after trying it.
other driver download links for your printer:
http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:590:0:0&searchLang=en&os_group=WinXP&target= (producers site, but you said you already tried it)
or here:
http://www.downloaddelivery.com/srfilecache/cjr2500EN.exe
It is of no importance where you download tha installation file for the driver, after downloading it unzipp itself in a folder called "driver" on disk C and after that, the installation of Lexmark driver&software starts automatically.
I downloaded the cjr2500EN.exe file from here http://www.downloaddelivery.com/srfileca... and runned it and it started without problem. Of cource i couldn't finalize the whole process because i dont have that kind of printer and it did not detect a link between my pc and the type of lexmark printer needed.
Here the image from my screen. I also run Windows XP Home Eddition.
And here i had to stop installation because it did not detect the printer:
So, maybe it's something else, i really find no explanation, it works very well here... :(

The Lexmark X2500 all-in-one multifunction printer, discontinued as of May 2011, will not install on Windows Vista or Windows 7 using the installation disc. The installation disc predates the newer editions of the Windows operating system and so you will run into difficulty when trying to install the printer. Lexmark has released up to date drivers on their website. Once you have downloaded the drivers, you can install the printer and begin using the device.
Go to the Lexmark X2500 Support and Downloads page (see Resources).
Click "Drivers and Downloads."
Install All Missing Drivers With This Driver Scan Tool!
drivermend.com/InstallDrivers
Click the link for either the "64 bit" or the "32 bit" drivers, depending on the version of Windows you are using.
Click "Download."
Double-click the file once it has downloaded. Click "Next" throughout the driver setup. Connect and switch on the Lexmark X2500 printer when prompted by the installer. Click "Restart" at the end to restart your computer.

Thanks, but I just thought of something I probably should have asked in the first place. Where do I download & install it to?
MsPatti
I tried both of the other 2 spots you suggested & neither one of them worked. I wasn't sure wherer to put them so I put them on the desktop this time last time I put them in Program Files. Anyway they said the same thing as before(except for the location of coarse), "C:\Documents&Settings\Patti\Desktop\1cjr2500en.exe is not a valid win32 application"
I'm I not putting it where it needs to be or something? I really know little about drivers & such. Honestly, I'm not so sure I 'm really understand the "win32" stuff verses ??, or how you know on files & programs. I've waited 2 years to get a printer/scanner for the scrapbooking my daughter & I do together. I really need some help & would be so grateful.
