Which one is on the manfacturers site for your computers make and model?
Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "EmachineSupport" or "Gateway Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Chipset drivers. If the site shows more than one, use the one with the latest date.
micha219, the eMachines W2925 desktop computer uses an FIC motherboard. First International Computer { Inc } The Model Number of the FIC motherboard is VC37. FIC VC37.
Disregard the following if you are aware: The plastic front of your computer is the Front Panel. The area on the Motherboard that the cables (Wires) from the Front Panel connect to, is the Front Panel header.
Processor to the Top, Ram Memory slots to the Right, the Front panel header is in the Bottom Right corner.
It is a rectangular shape with two columns of pins. The length goes up, and down on the motherboard.
The pins on the Right side of the Front Panel header are numbered Odd. The pins on the Left side of the Front Panel header are numbered Even.
There are 4 pins on the Left side. There are 5 pins on the Right side.
Starting at the Bottom on the Right side going Up; Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.
Starting at the Bottom on the Left side going Up; Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8.
A) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED light. (If after connecting the LED light is dim, reverse the wires)
B) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch. (Power On button)
C) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive Activity LED light.
D) Pins 5 and 7 are for the Reset switch. (Reset button. IF used)
Look very closely at the motherboard where the wires go... maybe with a magnifying glass . should say what wires go where. ie. (hdd led, reset, pwr. etc) if you reverse the wires.. just switch them back. its just for indicators.. also u could google the mainboard model number or search acer site for led pinout on mainboard.
they have to be plugged in horizontally although it is possible to plug them in vertically because the pins are evenly spaced either way. they are color coded just not like you would expect for example one plug has a green wire and a white wire the green side goes to the green pin and the white side goes to a green pin with a white cross you have to look close because there are several green pins which is what threw me off do this with all three plugs
Most Monitors. Have A Seperate Power Cord.
They vary in shape and size. 2 pin 3pin et,c.
Have a good look at the back, and check. you should have a power connector socket inlet. And a cable out socket, to connect Monitor To Sound Card On The Back of the Desktop.
These can be located on the back underside of the monitor.
if in doubt search for your monitor make and model on the net, and try to get some instructions.
hope this helps Mike.
