Take out the hard drive and dvd drive and also make sure the battery is out. Plug in the AC Adapter and then see if the laptop turns on. If it still doesn't turn on then that means the motherboard is bad.

Lap top screen only shows background picture

Does the mouse work? I would Cold-stat the machine: 1) remove AC plug from outlet, 2) remove battery, 3) hold down on/off button for 10 seconds, 4) replace battery, 5) plug into wall outlet 6) push on/off button.let me know if there is any change, if not you can try another procedure.

The power wont turn on

check first the power cable if properly connected to the back (or side) of the machine and on the power outlet. if its plugged in to a power extension, unplug it from the machine and from the power outlet, leave it like that for 2mins, and plug it back to the machine then directly to the wall outlet instead. if theres still no power, press down and hold the power button for 30secs, if nothing happens, the machine is dead, if its still under warranty, bring it to the store for free service.

I plug in cable that plugs in to the back of the tower and goes to the outlet, but nothing happens. The green light in the back does not come on either

Perform a powerdrain of the computer i.e. unplug the power cable from the back of the tower and press the power button and hold it down for 10 secs.
Please make sure that the power cables are connected properly.
try using a different power cable and check it on a different wall outlet.

Psc 2210 sounds like the gears just keep grinding then after a bit it stops. says press enter and nothing happens.

perform power cycle
1. Unplug the unit’s power cord from the back of the printer while the printer is 'on'.
2. Hold down the ‘On’ button for 60 seconds
3. Plug the power cord back to the unit while holding the ‘On‘ button down.
4. This will reset the printer’s mechanical systems and discharge all capacitors.
If the issue still persists, then
  1. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the all-in-one.
  3. Wait 30 seconds, and plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  4. Press and hold the # and 6 buttons on the numeric keypad.
  5. While still holding the buttons, plug the power cord back in to the all-in-one. Continue to hold the buttons for two seconds, and then release them.
This should resolve your issue.
