On my sony cyber-shot DSC-T700 the battery doesn't seem to charge even though it is being charged over night. It has only a short life, the battery health bar never shows full, only up to half fullI. Is there something wrong with the charger or am I doing something wrong?

Fist charger your SONY Cyber-shot DSC-W120 battery and clean the connect place of the battery and camera. Please make sure that the battery has been charged by the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W120 charger.
Li-ion batteries life is about 2-3 years, and if you have stored your battery with no power for a long time, the battery maybe has been damaged. When store Li-ion batteries you should charged it at about 40% first.
It could be that the battery isn't holding a charge anymore if you are using rechargeable batteries in you camera. Most of them have a short life to them. If you can get a hold of another one, see if that solves that problem.
If you open the camera up, whick I know is an intricate task, and take the screen down but don't unplug it, at the right bottom their is something that resembles a watch battery, if you can figure out how to get it off and find a replacement it will be fixed... This battery serves a a sort of memory power, even though you have batteries, this battery keeps the memory for the camera's software, so inturn without it the camera is dead in the water. this is fixable!
