Yaesu FT-100D transmit problem

I have a Yaesu FT-100D. When I transmit on any band, VFO or channel, the radio switches to the HOME1 channel. I've done both resets described in the ops manual and these have been ineffective in correcting the problem. Any ideas?

What are the tuning steps /procedures on a Yaesu FT 225DR. Works when tested my friends bench but not in my shack. All other 2 Meter rigs have no problem. The manual does not have this. PLEASE HELP.

You mean FT-225RD not DR ?

The RD is a base station all mode 2 meter rig. Older model.
Set the Channel switch to VFO.
Use the Band selector to set the vfo to 144, 145, 146, or 147 mhz.
Then turn the vfo knob to select the frequency.

I am getting a "Err" message when trying to transmit

Almost always a programming issue. Somehow, the transmit frequency is not enabled or programmed correctly. Always include all the zeros when programming these. The decimal point is critical also.

Menu mode 075 will not change the power settings

What freq and mode are you in? Did you lock out the vfo knob? Are you on a band that you can transmit on? More info please

Ft 2900r when I push then talk button on mic it shows error on all channels even with second mic

Sounds like a programming error. Does it work properly in VFO mode? Did you try a reset?

On a baofeng uv-5ra. how do i change freqs. on channell mode? frequency mode works fine but it won't let me change the freqs. in channell mode. thanks.

You have to be in "VFO" mode. Your best bet on that extremely difficult to use radio, is to get "chirp" and the proper cable and program it via a computer. If you search on-line for "baofeng programming" you may find an alternate set of instructions. Your absolute best bet: throw that PoS away and get a Yaesu FT-60.

How do i get expanded freqs on my ft1802 yaesu tranceiver

The FT-1802 is a 50 watt 2 meter FM transceiver. It can transmit anywhere between 144 - 148 Mhz (the FM portion) of the 2 meter ham band. It can receive anywhere between 136 - 174 Mhz without any modifications. There is a modification to enable transmit "out of band" below:

http://www.ham.dmz.ro/yaesu/ft-1802-extended-transmit-modification.php

There are few details about the results of this mod - typically these provide for transmitting on frequencies outside (above, below or both) of the 2 meter ham band. Transmitting outside of the ham band without a proper license for the frequencies in the U.S. is a violation of FCC rules.

I have a FT-8900 and want to be able to open the AM side so I can use it on frequency 26.805 is there anyway it can be done

The Yaesu FT-8900 is a quad band FM transceiver only. It can not be modified to receive or transmit AM, SSB, RTTY or CW. It works on all or portions of 70 centimeter, 2 meter, 6 meter and 10 meter bands. The 26.805 Mhz frequency is 11 meters, so it is out of range of the 10 meter band in the radio, it is close. Even if able expand the transceiver, the AM / SSB mode commonly found in this band makes it impossible to use. Further, the radio is not FCC Type Accepted for use in this band.

PPT works in the lower bands (under 148 Mhz) but not 156 range

Your radio has not been modified to transmit outside of the amateur bands.

Yaesu ft 50r

The FT-50R is an extended receive, but dual band (UHF & VHF) amateur transceiver. It is capable of transmitting between approximately 144Mhz - 148Mhz VHF and 430Mhz - 450Mhz UHF.

Typically, the radio will provide an audible warning whenever attempting to operate outside of its intended range(s). The manual has a section on maximizing battery life, and can be downloaded below:
