You need to check and make sure that you are trying to view the PS3's output on the proper channel or input on your TV. If you need to scroll through every channel and input.

If that doesn't work try replacing the A/V or HDMI cables. If it still doesn't work you may need to send it to Sony and have it replaced. The video output section of the console may be bad or not functioning correctly.

If you have a friend with a PS3 try to see if they will bring their's over and let you test it out. If their PS3 won't display then it's something wrong with the wires or the TV.

You need to make sure you have the correct Display setting for the connection you have. HDMI output will need HDMI cable to TV. Composite or component will need those cables. I had this problem (Selected Componet output when I had HDMI cables hooked up. I was not able to see the display. I had to hookup componet cables to see the menu and then change display to HDMI.

My ps3 does not transmit video or audio on any cords

Reset Video Output

If you are changing cables or cannot see an image on the screen, you may need to reset the video output to default settings. To reset the video output:
  1. While the PS3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the PS3 beeps a second time (approximately 5 seconds), then release it.
  2. The PS3 will power up, the Video Output Settings will automatically reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor).

Harden pardon 680 receiver won't play my ps3

The HDMI cord transmit audio and video signals, if the PS3 does not offer any other option to send audio/video information I'am afraid there is no other way around this.

I have a panasonic Th-42pv500a. I'm trying to connect my ps3 Via HDMI but it won't work. The ps3 works in my other tv with the same HDMI cable. And the foxtel box works in the panasonic with the same HDMI...

the playstation detects that you are changing display settings. hopefully you still have the old red yellow and white cord that we all used to use to plug in stuff to your tv . use this cord to connect your playstation to the tv, it should pop up that you want to change display settings. then after you go through that unplug and recconect the hdmi and it should run you through it again, Another option - when you plug in your ps3 to the tv , turn everything on the tv and playstation. if nothing pops up turn off your tv and playstation , literaly unplug them from the outlet for a good minute then plug everything back in and you should fix it that way. hope one of these work

My ps3 is hooked up to my tv via HDMI cord. The

1 - Turn on TV and set input to port being used.
2 - Make sure PS3 is connected via correct cable.
3 - Power on PS3 via power button and HOLD IT for 5 seconds (release after the second beep). It should automatically configure your PS3 to the TV's native resolution for all settings.

Then after that change the output setting to HDMI on your PS3 and see if it works after that, if not, try the system on another TV to make sure its not a problem with your tv.

If it still doesn't work try another cable and then after that it could be a problem with the main board inside of the ps3.
