The picture is very dim and appears fadded.

My samsung 61in DLP HD tv picture has become very dim. The screen is dark and very hard to see. Samsung said that if the bulb was out the screen would be dark with no picture. Is it possible the bulb is going out and is not yet out?

I have a 55in Samsung Dlp the color looks good but a little dark can't see picture if the movie is dark

You might need a new bulb, the bulbs get dim as there life diminishes. Replace the bulb to get a bright picture. Do not use cheap bulbs, an OEM bulb for that tv should be $60+. . Cheap clone bulbs will work but will fail a lot sooner

My Samsung DLP HD tv's picture is starting to go dim. What can I do to make the picture bright like it used to be. Model Code - HLS6187WX Thank you for any help you can provide. Spencer

Has the lamp ever been replaced? As lamps age they get darker screens. First though check to make sure the TV settings aren't accidentally on a dark setting. Go into the menu and see if increasing the brightness helps.Different picture modes like movie, games, vivid have different brightness settings vivid usually the brightest.

Blotchy picture

I get this too with my Samsung. Are you watching HD content or standard (cable, satellite) tv? If it's the latter, that's why. The lack of quality really shows on analog signals. The shows that I Tivo look horrible a lot of times. Another thing is the connection to the television. If you are using standard RCA connectors, try switching to either component or HDMI.

Hope this helps.
