The remote device or resource won't accept the connection is the message I get when trying to access the internet
First thing to check here if the pc is getting a valid IP address to do this go to Command prompt and then type IPCONFIG and hit enter the computer should have a 192.x.x.x IP address if it does do this next step on the command prompt type this command PING YAHOO.COM and hit enter check if you will receive 4 replies after you hit enter if you receive Request timed out there a chance that a security software is blocking the connection like a firewall so disable that firewall for the mean time , but if you receive 4 replies it means that internet is really working on the computer and there's just something wrong with your Internet explorer of
Firefox settings..
For internet explorer follow this, Click on Tools > Internet options > connections tab > Lan settings make sure nothing is check and also select never dial a connection then click OK and restart the computer..
Then after that try the internet if its working now....
Let me just ask you first what operating system are you using is it XP or a lower version of Windows operating system like Windows 98?
We can try also to uninstall and reinstall your wireless adapter if this computer is connected wirelessly to your router, Open device manager from that computer and look for your wireless adapter just right click on it and select uninstall and then once its remove restart the computer to install the adapter automatically and then once its installed again connect to your wireless network and once its connected try the internet and check if its still the same error....
Yes the first one that shows wireless....
Once you uninstall the WIFI adapter restart the computer and after that check device manager is the WIFI is back and then once its back look for the wireless connection and connect to your wireless network....
What do you mean it didn't work ? WIFI adapter is not back on device manager or it wont connect to wireless network??
Ok did you check if the Atheros is back under device manager? let me also ask you how many computers do you have an how many wireless computer do you have there working with your network??
OK look for network and sharing center from that laptop , you can find it under control panel and then check if you will see there a wireless connection so we can make it easier to tell what's the problem here.....
OK then follow this "
For internet explorer follow this, Click on Tools > Internet options
> connections tab > Lan settings make sure nothing is check and
also select never dial a connection then click OK and restart the
computer..
Is there another internet browser on that computer like Mozilla Firefox that we can try? if none can you please install one to it so we can see if this is a problem with your Internet explorer and also check if you have some security software running on that computer kindly disable it for the mean time...
You can download from a working computer and save it to a USB flash drive do you have one of those> because now we just need to check if the problem is really with the internet explorer of with the actual computer....
OK take you're reset now and its late already....
Sorry for the late reply? so what happen any update??
By the way let me ask you can this computer be wired to the router just to let ask check if it will be working fine to the internet when wired to it>> so we cna also check if the problem is only happening on the wireless connection...
Ok just post any update again here once you're back thank you...

Hi Rasel here.
I think previous expert was not online for long time that's why the question opened for other experts.
Anyway please provide the below details in next comment.
1.type in start > run>cmd > IPCONFIG
give the ip address of local area connection and default gateway address
2.run same thing for 2nd computer and give the ip address for wireless Ethernet adapter.
3. on first computer run > CMD and type ping [ip address of 2nd computer]
4. try open the web access to the router..[open browser , type in the default gateway address on address box and press Enter.]
5. Are you having independent DSL/Internet connection.
6.What is the internet/DSL connection status showing in router.
Let me know these things. I will try my best to help you.
Thanks and regards.
Restart.

Try restarting your router. If that doesn't work than check if you didn't accidentally hit the wireless button on your laptop as many people tend to do this and not realize it.
SOURCE: Well I currently do not
try connecting with a cable. If it connects and you are trying to connect wireless you have the wrong Security key entered into the computer.

Nothing happened when I tried your solutions. I typed IPCONFIG and the computer flashed a black screen but then went back. I can't get on-line so the Pingyahoo.com thing doesn't work either.
Windows 7
under network adapters there are three listed:
Atheros AR5009 802.11a/g/n WiFi Adapter
Mictosoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter
Realtek RTL8102E Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)
Is it the first one???
ok. what do I do next?
no, that did not work
I don't know. It says the remote device or resource won't accept the connection. I am not computer literate so I have no idea.
yes, the Atheros is still there. I have three computers. One that is connected and two wireless. The one I am trying to connect to is a laptop the other one is a desktop and there is no problem with connecting to the internet.
It shows that I am connected to the internet but when I try to go to internet explorer I keep getting cannot display webpage and I click on diagnose connection problems and it says the remote device or resource won't accept the connection.
I still cannot connect to the internet
I don't know how to install that without being able to connect to the internet.
I did that and it says Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at m.www.yahoo.com
if you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection
if your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
Thanks for your help. I'm going to bed. I guess I will try again tomorrow.
are you there???? Still cannot get on-line....help
no I still cannot get on-line....
can't do that right now. Gotta go. I will log on again a little bit later and try it and get back to you
hello, still not able to connect to the internet. Can you help me? I think it has something to do with the router? Not sure....I have two computers connected to this router, one wired and one wireless. This is my third computer that cannot connect.
I tried the IPCONFIG on the computer that doesn't work and it says under Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection media state: Media disconnected. It says media disconnected for everything.
