Hi i was wondering if you could help, i have a Janome M100 mini sewing machine and the bobbin won't catch, so it can't be pulled up with the thread.what do i do?
I am having a problem with my M100. I was sewing some school projects that were made of "binker" or cross-stitch material and I think it was too much for the machine. But, now it doesn't want to work properly. The bobbin takes forever to catch, I really have to play with it...and when it does then the stitches are all "loopy" and wrong.
Anyone got any suggestions?I am having a problem with my M100. I was sewing some school projects that were made of "binker" or cross-stitch material and I think it was too much for the machine. This was really helpful for me fixing my daughter a John Lewis (janome) mini sewing machine, and now can get the bobbin thread up again, however, when you sew, the thread is not staying in stitches, just coming off the material completely. I tried forcing the gears on one more time but then it didn't pick up the bobbin thread again so went back to the other gear position. Any ideas of what to try and get it stitching again? Thanks
try changing the needle rethread the machine top & bobbin make sure to use every thread guide make sure the bobbin is not over wound make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin case make sure the bobbin is not warped or damaged if you've done all these things then it's also possible that the machine is out of time & needs to be checked at a repair shop
Hi: Is this a needle provided with the machine as new? What type of fabric are you sewing... have you tried a different fabric? Is the bobbin placed into the machine correctly with it unwinding in the right direction?
Check the bobbin tension and that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder.
Hi. Check to make sure the needle is in correctly. There is a flat side on the needle shank and that has to be facing a particular way. For most modern machines, the flat side of the needle faces to the rear, away from you, but it's always a good idea to check the manual to make sure on your machine. If the needle is bent, that can cause the same thing, but it's almost always that the needle is in wrong.
Happy Sewing!

it sounds like a needle threading problem. if you have the instruction book, pull yout needle thread off the machine and re-thread as per the book ie presser foot up and make sure thread goes betwen tension discs and up over takeup lever.
to check needle tension is ok, lower presser foot and pull needle thread through needle, the needle thread should be tight enough to bend the needle a little.
