I have a linskys EQ-660R ADSL Router and i am trying to make my NAT type open. I've got UPnp and checked all boxes...nothing happened. here i will give u my options on the advanced menu. (Password) (LAN) (WAN) (NAT) (Dynamic DNS) (Time and Date) (Firewall) (Remote Managerment) (UPnp). NAT just has SUA under it wher i can do START PORT NUMBER END PORT NUMBER and IP ADDRESS. So i was wondering if i need a new router? or if their is anything i can do to fix it

You need to set
wan type to PPPOE for ADSL
ADSL has one IP address coming out of your building to the ISP
How does it connect many internal computers to just one outgoing IP address you may wonder. It uses different port numbers for each computer on the same ip address via a PPPoe connection .
http://searchnetworking.techtarget.com/definition/PPPoE
if still stuck call your isp for help
you will most likely need dynamic IP for the isp ip and DNS /

SOURCE: Port Forwarding

hello just got sorted, hope this is helpful ,,,i logged onto port forwarding.com and a long story short , basically had to interigate my zyxel router, what you do is fix the ip add of your wireless connection (the computer) to a manual fix eg. mine is now fixed to 192.168.1.40 with a port tunnel 46207(utorrent preferences)i picked this out of my head as there is a scale from one no. to another.   you then get the password to your router and get into its internal settings via password and go to the port forwarding section, you then tell the router that the computer has a fixed ip add (the one above ) and dedicate a fixed port or tunnell/window mine is 46207save this setting on your router and your home and dry, basically your telling the router that the computer has a fixed add, with port window??? and off it goes ,,,,portfward.com tells al

SOURCE: ok my nat type is strict and i am trying to change to open

You want the NAT open for X-box ?

For X-box you will need to open some ports on the router.

Also you will need to reduce down the MTU on the router to 1365.
That will work.
for this you will need to open the router set up.
