Either the problem is you are using Mp3 player. So it wont support the format.
So only its not working.
IF that supports your player then download this software to convert videos to mp4.After converting connect via USB to Computer and put in your player.

Very simple. - Download file from Youtube. i.e MP4 or FLV- Convert with Youtube video to MP3 if you need audio. - Else if you need video convert to Philips supported file format...

there is this program called youtube downloader and just put it into google search and find the free downloader it doesnt only download files from youtube it also converts files already on your computer to

I have a Phillips go Gear myself. You need the media converter for phillips software for it. It takes any file and converts it to a Phillips specific file for your player. The disk came with my player but if you would like to download the software you can find it here: http://www.arcsoft.com/products/mediaconverter/

You may have to download Riva Flv Encoder and convert the YouTube videos to AVI format first. Then you have to use the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter to convert and transfer video files to the Philips GoGear. Because the software likes to play a preview of the movie, you may have to download additional codecs to make it work. Copyright-protected or DRM-encrypted video files are not compatible with the GoGear.

The video conversion software (actually made by ArcSoft) will not naturally recognize FLV files. You will need a FLV to AVI converter - I use Riva FLV Encoder. Once the YouTube videos are converted to AVI, the video converiosn software for the GoGear should recognize it and convert the video. If the video conversion software is giving you a codec error - get codecs for FLV, AVI, MPEG-4, and any other format you may be using (Quicktime, latest version contains many of these Codecs).
