Uniden cordless phone - model DSS7855

I have 2 of these units and now both aren't functioning. On one unit, the base isn't working ( only the message ''welcome.. please wait'' displays then flashes and goes no further except briefly lighting up the menu when I press and hold one of the function buttons ) on the other, the handset microphone isn't working properly and the person I'm calling can't hear what I'm saying unless I yell loudly. Even then they can only hear me as a whisper. I'd be able to deregister the handset of the unit with the base that's not working and use it with the other phone but the handset can't connect with its base while the base keeps flashing the intro message.

These are great phones and it's annoying to have 2 that aren't working like this. Hope you can help. Thanks so much

Regards,
Julie

I have the same problem. I am told by uniden's service agent in Melbourne that it will cost $85 to replace the base station. They could not suggest a quick fix, and over the telephone, said it sounds like it has been the victim of a power surge or like problem.

I get the same message on my base unit ''welcome.. please wait''. The two handsets work fine but they of course rely on the base unit to work. They told me that it was probably associated with a power surge (or which I did have an outage) and would cost $50 to initially look at it and then another $85 to replace the base unit. It's unusual that everything else in the house (including items on the same powerboard) have no problems. Seems like this phone goes bad at the drop of a hat.

Press and hold "end" and "#" for more than 5 seconds this will de-register your handset without the base unit.

I have a corded motorola phone model l704cm started beeping every hour anyone knows why and how do I stop it

Is it the base unit that beeps? One or more of the handsets? The manual does not cover that problem, so I suspect it is not related to a normal function.

If you haven't tried turning it off - unplug the base unit and pull all the batteries from all units. Wait about 5min and put the batteries back in and reconnect the power.

Unfortunately, that will also reset anything you've set up, and might also delete stored messages and caller id lists ...

Phone flashing 88 8 now flashing e4 cannot get dial tone.

Your manual may have the E4 code, but Uniden certainly will, if you contact their support site. This symptom often indicates a power or function issue with the base unit, and so make sure the base has charging voltage, and the terminals are clean (use a qtip and alcohol). When you contact Uniden Support, have your model number ready, since different units can have the same or different error codes programmed into them.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Uniden offers so many models, please write back with a model number.
It is printed on the bottom of the main base unit, and probably begins with a D

I have (3) Uniden telephones in the house. We went on holidays for (2) weeks and switched off (2) of them. We switched them all on when we returned but now only one unit fully functions. The other two will...

Sounds like you need to re-register the 2 handsets that are not working properly. Sometimes the handsets must first be de-registered then re-registered to the base unit. Send a comment with the model number of the base unit and handsets if they are not original handsets and I will give specific information for your phone. I have included a link where you can download the manual for your Uniden cordless phone by model number.

I have a Uniden DECT 6.0. How do I delete the

This probably applies to your model:-

From the expansion handpiece - while the message is playing - hit the 4 button - or 4:delete button.

From the base unit - while the message is playing - hit "delete".

You can only delete all messages at once from the base unit.

UNIDEN DECT 6.0

DECT 6.0 is not a model number, it's the generic name for the cordless phone technology in use. So I can't give you a more specific link than this one, which takes you to Uniden's download page for manuals. Pick your model from the list, and the manual will explain the steps you'll need to follow. Your phone's model number is on a sticker normally found on the rear or bottom of the base unit.
