I have an HP Notebook (dv6700) with Windows Vista operating system. It has the Pioneer DVDRW drive [DVR-K17B]. For the past few months, I haven't been able to burn anything to disc. I can't seem to find any firmware updates. I'd be grateful for any assistance. Thank you.

you may need to clean the lens of drive with a wet tissu paper, otherwise the drive might gone out of order, need replacement.

It can read CD/DVD discs - but it can't burn onto a blank CDR.
For example, I've tried burning music from iTunes and Windows Media Player onto disc, but no success. Everything is up-to-date with iTunes and WMA - so I don't think that's the problem. When I try to update the driver software, Windows informs me that it's already up-to-date.
The thing is, before I can give you a solution... Tell me if it does or does not just plain read CD/DVD discs?
