Hmm I havent heard of this before. Did you try updating the firmware on the remote?
1. Remove the battery, press and hold the 'OFF' button, and re-insert the battery. The screen will display 'Safe Mode!', or the 'Activities' button will be lit.
2. Connect your remote to the computer.
3. Launch the Harmony Remote Software, and log in.
4. Click "Downloads" at the top and click "Firmware".
5. The remote will go through the firmware update.
6. Select "Yes", and click NEXT to update the remote.
What exactly does the error message say?
I don't know if this will work for you but it worked for me
Ok to fix this you need to do is.
1. In the MyHarmony sofware get ready to sync the remote.
2. Put the remote into safe mode. (Hold down the power button. Remove the battery and put it back in while holding the power button down, until you see safe mode.)
3. Sync the remote.
4. Every time the remote restarts, hold down the power button. (You will need to sit by the remote to do this because the remote will restart a few times.)
5. Done.
