I HAVE THE PHASE LINEAR UV8 WITH THE J-LINK CABLE AND THERE IS NO PLUG ON THE STEREO TO HOOK IT INTO ! THE CABLE HAS A S TYPE END ON IT BUT NO WAY TO HOOK IT UP .
I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURE AND THEY SAID THAT YOU CAN NOT GET VIDEO THRU THE CABLE THAT COMES WITH THE STEREO. ON THAT UNIT YOU CANT GET VIDEO THRU THE HEADPHONE CONNECTION, YOU MUST HAVE A STEREO THAT HAS CD CHANGER CAPABILITYS TO GET VIDEO WITH THE I-POD. IT SEEMS THAT THEY MADE 2 DIFFERENT STEREO TYPES WITH THE SAME MODEL #. ONE HAS CD CHANGER AND THE OTHER DOESNT. THE ONLY WAY TO GET VIDEO IS TO HAVE THE SYSTEM WITH CD CHANGER CONNECTION ON THE REAR AND THEN YOU GET THE J-LINK CABLE TO CONNECT THE I-POD. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY !!!!! It sounds like you have a factory amp in the vehicle. Check behind the radio to see if you have the blue wire from the deck hooked up to anything. You probably do. So take the blue with white stripe wire coming from the deck and hook that up instead of the solid blue wire.
u need to get a Y splitter to make that one female into 2 females so both the red and blue plug in. its like 5 bucks. one end is a male rca connection then splits to to female rca's
I wasn't able to find the manual for your Head unit. But, if you have jlink capability with your UV8 and you have an ipod jlink cable, you should just be able to plug the cable in. Then hook up your ipod and the head unit should recognize it when you try to select "ipod" for your source. I wish I could offer more info but like I said I wasn't able to see the manual and I am basing my answer off of what it takes for Kenwood headunits which use a similar "bus" type cable like your jlink.
