I bought a new harddrive and my hp nc6220 still says setup did not find any hard disk installed in computer how to fix

You have to check on your bios in advance chipset by pressing F2 or DEL after pressing the power button then go to advance bios, whether it's AHCI or IDE. If its set on IDE change to AHCI by changing the values based on your bios setting for example F5/F6 or page up/page down, or change from native to enhance something like that. Then save the bios settings like F10 or Esc then press Y. Then try installing again your operating system.

Will acer extensa 5230E reinstallation cds contain windows

A driver restore disk works with a windows disk to return your Acer Extensa 5230E Windows 7 back to the original factory setup.

Once windows has installed you put this disk into the drive as soon as windows gives you a found new hardware dialog box. Once inserted the Acer Extensa 5230E Windows 7 will automatically find all the drivers and also install most of the original factory software. BEWARE OF GENERIC DISKS ! All Drivers and factory software are operating system specific so you must have the correct software and drivers for your Acer Extensa 5230EWindows 7. Some of the drivers you would find on this Acer Extensa 5230E Windows 7 Restore Disk are listed below. Not all will be applicable to your system as this list is for information only for Acer Extensa 5230E Windows 7 Restore Disk.

THIS DISK DOES NOT CONTAIN AN OPERATING SYSTEM!
YOU WILL NEED TO INSTAL Windows 7 FIRST OR USE AN EXISTING INSTALL.

Hope this helps

Hello my dear i want install 1 hard disk 320 gb and after that install win xp on my qosmio but after start setup win xp show mw did not find hard drive. how can i repair this problem? thanks

In order to be detected the hard disk drive by your windows xp installer. You have to set your sata in your cmos or bios setup. When powering your computer tap the F2 key or Del to enter cmos or bios setup, go to integrated peripherals and look for the sata controllers. Most of the times if its configured as a enhanced the windows xp can not detect it. You have to change the settings to compatible mode. Please the modify key either F5 or F6 or PGUP/PGDOWN or + or - . After changing the settings press F10 and press y and enter. Then try again running the windows setup. Have a nice day.

Want to install a second sata hard drive, new drive not auto detecting, bios only identifies ide drives

HI popsrowe

Your problem is most likely the SATA data and power cables. for tips on the two cables. the system should detect the SATA hard disk automatically,
( you only need, setting the hard disk support as a second hard disk to the system in the bios setup )

Hello,

You are trying to install windows xp? The normal windows xp cd will not have drivers for newer laptops. You will get this error message.

What you need to do is to try using acer recovery instead.

Acer machines should have a build in recovery, hold down ALT and presson F10 repeatedly when you power on the machine, keep pressing every 2seconds until acer recovery comes up, if it doesn't come up then yourmachine probably doesn't have that option, the laptops mostly have it.

If you are unable to do the above then you may be able to order recovery discs from ACER --https://secure.tx.acer.com/RCDB/Main.aspx?brand=Acer

Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer. Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk-related hardware configuration...

you didn't post the make and model of the system, but on most modern systems, this error occurs when the Hard Drive Controller for the system doesn't have a native driver on the Windows install CD. So you need to load the driver during the install. In XP this is done via a Floppy Diskette (XP setup will not recognise a USB Drive) Vista you can install from just about any drive (USB Flash drive generally easiest)

Setting new hard drive up on acer 5315 series

Hi,
If the Back Up Disk you mean the 2 Recovery Disks that you have burned from the eRecovery in Acer.

You have to enable D2D Recovery on the BIOS Setup, it's usually on the second page of the BIOS Setup on a Acer Aspire Laptop.
