Digilogic vcr\dvd combi

Unable to access vcr\dvd either thru' remote or display buttons, it always has the word SAFE on the screen this has just happened.

please help !!!!

    I have a Digilogic VCR/DVD combi which for one reason or another has decided to display the word SAFE. I have turned it off at the mains, leaving it overnight and it still wont work. There is a cassette in the VCR which we cant get out, as you press eject the word SAFE just appears on screen.

    Can anyone help. I notice someone has put to ring Phillips, but its a Digilogic, if they are the same company, does anyone have a number.

I have just pressed the on button, on the remote, kept it held in for a few minutes and beleive it or not, it has come off SAFE and works fine now.

Is your Digilogic DVDVCR2 stuck in SAFE mode?
Is is locked and unresponsive?

To unlock your Digilogic DVDVCR2, simply press and hold the red power button on the remote for at least five seconds. Sometimes it takes longer, so you may have to hold it up to 30 seconds to make your player usable again.

Would you like your Digilogic DVDVCR2 to be region-free and play all DVDs? Here are the steps to make your Digilogic DVDVCR2 region free:

  1. Press the Standby button on your remote control to place the unit into Standby
  2. Press the Standby button on your remote control to turn on the unit
  3. Press the Open/Close button on your remote control to open the drive tray
  4. Press the Clear button on your remote control
  5. Press the 1 button on your remote control
  6. Press the 3 button on your remote control
  7. Press the 6 button on your remote control
  8. Press the 9 button on your remote control
  9. Press the 0 button on your remote control
  10. Press the Open/Close button on your remote control to close the drive tray

My digilogic dvd/vcr seems to be locked. What ever button I try on both remote and box, the word safe comes up. I cannot play or get anything to come up. Please help!

Acessing Menu with universal remote
We used a One4All model URC3021BOO remote. We programmed BOTH the TV function and the DVD/vcr button with code 0807.  To access the menu PRESS TV then MENU button then DVD/VCR button will allow you to change menu functions using left and right and select buttons. *TV button will access Menu screen BUT NO menu functions. * DVD/VCR button will NOT access menu screen but WILL control menu functions if menu is already displayed. May work with other sharp products, or other universal remotes? These original (RRMCG1330PESA) remotes run 38.00+ to buy new so try this FIRST!

There should be a button on your remote labeled "safe." Press that, and it will turn the safe mode off. It's on the second row from the bottom on my remote.
