Zone 2 with Onkio TX-SR605

I have the same problem as the others. But I am just wondering why I can't hear the radio? I am sure this is an analogue signal isn't it? I have connected the speakers directly to the amp, and selected "Act" from the menu. When I turn Zone 2 on not even the radio comes through?

Secondly. My connections are HDMI. Can I just connect some RCAs to the DVD player to play CDs on the Zone 2. Would this effect the HDMI settings?

Any help would be great.

Liam.

Hi

I FIXED IT!!! …LOL

All you have to do is to do a factory reset on everything, but I thing mostly on your 605. I think what had happened is after I set everything up for the first time, it worked great. As the days when on I started to play with all of the futures the 605 and the TV had to offer. I was turning them on and off to see what everything did. What I think I did was, I turned on something in the 605 that the TV did not know how to cope with. If I had to guess, I think it is the Lip-sink feature (Spelling?) in the 605.

Anyway disconnect everything, look in your manuals of the TV and the 605 to see how to do the factory reset on both. Then turn your TV on. After it does it’s start up for the first time (again), start connecting the 605.

It has been working great for me after I did this. Do not count on help from the people you bought it from or the people who made it. This stuff is so new they do not really know how to fix it.

Please feel free to call me if you need more help. 410-456-1290.

I have the Onkyo TX-SR605 system. My Zone 2 used to work and now it doesn't. I tried to activate it under the Hardware Setup, but Zone 2 does not show up. Any suggestions where else it can be found

Hello, When you say Zone 2 doesn't show up do you mean that its not there at all, or is it just greyed out? I would suggest a reset of the unit it seems as though either way it could be a glitch. Thanks, FJD

Onkyo TX-SR605 cannot get Zone 2 to work on any setting other than FM Mode

Have you assigned the zone 2 configuration to the device that you want to play on zone 2?

This is part of zone 2 settings.

Otherwise the problem is with the amplifier circuit and will need replacement.

If the unit is not more than 3-5 years old , then depending on where you are there is a factory warranty.
Check with your Onkyo service centre before touching the unit.

No sound when dvd input is selected on onkio tx-ds696

Make sure your DVD setting is looking at the right audio inputs. Usually there is a menu option or a button to toggle from analog or digital input. Usually when no-sound but video ok, you have the wrong input-type selected. If you are using 2 RCS's (red/white) then you want ANALOG input mode. If you are usung a single RCA (orange) or a fiber optic input for audio, you want DIGITAL input selected. If digital os selected, make sure you plug into the correct digital input to hear. If it does not work at first, mofe the jack/fiber around into the different inputs untill you hear sound, then you will know which port is associated with the DVD setting. Unless it is self evident feom the menu.

Zone 2 cut off on onkyo

Your program source may not support a 7.1 format. Try switching to 5.1

Tuner Omits No Sound - Onkyo TX-SR605 7.1 Channels Receiver

Make sure your receiver is hooked up to proper AM and FM antennae. Try switching to AM, scan stations. If you hear AM static and/or weak signals the problem could be antennas are not hooked up. FM has AFT which blocks out weak or noisey stations and you wont hear anything without ant.
