I got the lg xenon for christmas.. and everytime you turn it off and power it back on you have to do the touch calibration and you do it once exaclty in the center of the cross and then any other time it asks just put dots randomly anywere and when it says save press no .. so you will have the first good calibration saved (:

Screen seems OK but there is no way to interface as it does not respond to touch. Unit is 255w and about 2 years old.

The solution to this problem is for you to calibrate the screen. Before calibrating the screen, i will advice you reset the gps. To reset your device, hold down the power button for about 15 seconds, it will restart itself and power up fully, if the touch screen does not still work, then calibrating the screen will do the job for you. To calibrate the screen, follow the steps below:
  1. Turn off your nuvi,
  2. Hold the upper left corner of the screen, then turn on the nuvi,
  3. Release the power key once the garmin screen appears,
  4. Continue to hold the upper left corner of the screen for 30 seconds till a white screen with 'touch dots' appears,
  5. Then follow the rest of the guide from there.
It might take a few tries before it works for you but you have to keep trying till you get it right. I am very certain that this will work for you.

Garmin Nuvi 350 Calibration Issue

Turn the unit off. Press and hold down the power button and keep holding it. You will see the screen light up and it will say "pre-boot mode". Keep holding down the power key. It will then say "booting". Keep holding the power button down. You'll then come to the calibation screen. Select the dots and you'll be back in business.

UNABLE TO CALIBRATE TOUCH SCREEN

The only possible fix is to try to clean the edges of the screen in case any particles are trapped between the screen and the case, this can confuse the touch screen.

Do this with a soft toothbrush, it will not damage the screen.

If that doesnt work then in all likelihood the screen is broken, it can be replaced but this is not trivial. There are guides on the internet on how do do this.
