DVD+R won't play

I have had the player since June 07 and it was working just fine. About a month ago it stopped reading my DVD +R that I have made. It played them fine in the past. I talked to Samsung until I am blue in the face, they keep saying we recommend you use DVD-R. I say the reason I bought the unit is the multi format playback. I have 200 things that I have made and now can't watch them. I downloaded the firmware they have on the site and that did nothing. I have cleaned it and nothing. Thing is I have had really good experience with it until now. It records great. Transfers from VHS with ease and it plays anything that was made on it. Even DVD+R.

I have been recording fine since April 08. Today I have encountered a problem. While I am recording something off tv the dvd recorder will lose sound then freeze. The tv feed keeps going. After staying frozen I attempt to pause or stop the recording it does not respond. After about 30 seconds to 60 seconds the dvd player screen will go blank, set the dvd time back to zero and the rec speed back to HQ no matter what speed it is on. Have tried this 3-4 times. Longest recording without freezing is 45 minutes. None of the dvds have finalized. I reset the player back to factory settings and that did not work. Going to try to unplug the player for a period of time next. I really like this player and do not want to get a new one. I have recorded a lot of hockey games with no trouble at all. Has anyone had a problem like this before? Thanks for any suggestions

Will not read disc

As it's less than a year old the manufacturer's warranty should still apply.

Your player probably has a failed laser head unit; if you have to pay to fix this fault then you'd be better off just chucking it away and buying a replacement as it will be cheaper.

Stops Playing: screen freezes

My friend suggested I clean the dvd optical reader lens inside the player with a fine brush (like a camera brush with a blower bulb). This seemed to help immensely. I'm not certain if this is just a temporary fix, but it seems to be ok so far.

Samsung dvd-v4600

Wish I could. I have the 4600 combo and the VCR works fine. The DVD stopped working many months ago and just yesterday started working fine again. Worked fine for two days and then stopped, picture froze, and all I got out of it, is the picture is loading. Wont give me back my DVD nohow, so have opened the case and stole it back. Tray will not open at all. Trying some repairs, will holler if succesful

Insignia DVD/Cassette combo player

I imagine you have checked the disk for scratches top and bottom, if so you can purchase a cd/dvd lens cleaner cdrom as the laser may need realigning and cleaning.

Problem with portable dvd player

i would return the item to your retailer as it should hold a 12 month warranty, as if it cannot read cds or dvd, the lens is faulty, and trying to repair it yourself will void your warranty. Please dont forget your ratings are important, thank you
