Xerox printer error code (04,025.46)

My Xerox Phaser 8400 printer stopped working and I received the above error code.

Thunderstorms last night with numerous power glitches and I turned off the power on the 8400 just as it started the 2nd reboot. I know - not the swiftest move, but I didn't want to wait for it to come up and do a normal shutdown.

In any case, now it is showing a 04,025.46 and I am trying to follow the directions in the solution above. The scraper is not blocking the print head, but I am not sure I have either of them "homed." Basically I turned the gears until the scraper was as far down as possible and two painted dots on gears on the left hand side line up. Problem was not fixed however.

Is there a more definitive description of homing the print head and the scraper?

This is a print head position issue.

TRY FIRST (Solutions without parts):
1. Check that the wipe mechanism has homed. 2. Check the printhead position and verify that it has initialized properly / manually home the printhead and power cycle the printers power and check for the error to return. If not then the error was most likely due to non-process function (something out of sequence).
Part likely to be the cause:
GEARBOX AND MOTOR,PROCESS DRIVE - PL 4.0, Item 14.

There is a couple of other things I have thought of that could caust the maintenance kit to be out of position.

You may want to see if the 2 green tabs on the outside of the maintenance tray are worn.

There is a clutch that also causes a maintenance tray issue.

But normally that gives you a different code.

    Although those are possibilities.

SOURCE: xerox phaser 8400 error

That is a print head tilt error. Either the print head pivot block is contaminated with ink or the wiper blade is tacked to the print head.
Let me know if you want to try to resolve it yourself, I will send you directions.

SOURCE: Xerox Phaser 8400 error

When you power on the unit it goes through a series of tests to determine that the correct voltage is going to each system within the phaser. The error code you've provided implies a Preheater error 37,008.44
AC power supplied by power sources such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) or DC-to-AC inverter systems may not supply correct voltage to properly power up the printer. Likewise, other devices sharing the same AC circuit can cause AC voltage sags that cause the printer to fail its AC heater PEST tests (Print Engine Self Test).
My first suggestion is to remove any other devices from the electrical outlet the printer is on, and then power it on.
If the error persists, you've got a hardware failure internally and would need to replace the preheater and deskkew assembley, Xerox PN 119641980
By the way, the last 4 digits in your error code are the current page count of your printer. This number is relatively low and thus it begs the question is the printer still under warranty? The part in question is about $110, however installing it will not be an easy task if you've never taken a Phaser 8400 apart or you do not have a service manual.
My suggestion, if the machine is out of warranty, is that you bring it to a qualified repair technician for service, unless you feel comfortable doing the repair yourself.
best of luck in any regard

Error code 13.387.48:106521 Phaser 8400 Print Count 110,000 Can this be Fixed

It can be fixed, but only by a Xerox authorised service centre. Xerox website tells you to turn it off and book it in for a service. Be prepared to pay a call out fee before hand. Here's the reference link for your error from Xerox website.

Xerox Phaser 8400 error code 37,004.40:27697

The majority of the time that code means the print head has failed.
That is a print head heater error.
You can find some places that sell print heads for about $150 , you would have to google the model number for that.
Xerox would charge $750 for a new print head, uninstalled.

Xerox phaser 8400 error code

That code is a jet heater code. The most likely problem is a bad print head, the second most likely bad item is the electronics module that supplies the 40-50 volt source to the print head heater.
