I got a Alpine cda-9851 cd player today. I popped the face plate off to see where the cd goes in, but theres not a slot for it! Do i have to have a 6 disk changer for it?

yeah same problem, with a pioneer unit and also a JVC unit. I think the problem lies in the 6 disk cd changer setup, something is little wonky there, just cant figuare out what, hopeing somone who resolved it could give us a hand
you go to a stereo shop..(walmart autozone etc should also do) buy a mounting kit and a wire harness adapter. The wire colors on the adapter match the wire colors of most aftermarket decks. MAtch the wire colors and connect...make sure to tape wires well as if they touch you rick damage to your deck..
install the mount kit plug in your cd player and slide it in and you are good to go..
