Hi, our fridge does not seem to cool properly. Moving the temp. up or down dos not make much difference. The big black ball underneath the body feels boiling hot. Any suggestions what could be the problem? I could not find a model number on the outside. This model has the fridge part on top of the seperate freezer section. Thank you

AC duct temp range.

you need to take the temp of whats coming out of the plenum and the temp at the return and subtract them and you should have a difference of 17-20 degrees, that will tell if you are cooling properly,

My fridge IS NOT getting cold enough. Temp control is maXxed. The freezer seems cold enough and making ice cubes. this is a GE fridge model #TBF16DRB

Try cleaning the coils beneath the refrigerator. Its possible that they are covered with dust and blocking a fresh flow of cool air to help cool the refrigerator inside. Just a little cleaning there will make a big difference. Check your door seals also a small opening will let the cool out and the hot in. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Kenmore Model # 596.735032.. Fridge is cool, Freezer is not freezing

After pulling the fridge away from the wall and removing the lower right hand panel I noticed that the compressor (big round black ball with copper tubing) was not turning on. I also noticed that there was a ticking or popping sound comming from it every couple of minutes or so. After doing some research online in numerouse forums I decided to try and replace the overheat relay that is attached to the compressor. It only took maybie five minutes at most to change it and the compressor is now working with nice cold air comming into the fridge and freezer. Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.
