Delete songs how do you delete songs from my apple ipod its 4gb

I have a problem deleting songs from my Ipod 3rd Gen Nano that has a different twist to it. My PC is too old to run XP so I can't use Itunes to control my Ipod. I have to use the Winamp 5.53 player which works very well except for this one problem. When I delete a song, album, etc. from the Ipod, the sound is removed but the song info.--title, artist, album art--remains on the Ipod . There is no sound and the deleted songs use no bytes but when I use shuffle mode and the Ipod shuffles to where the deleted song is listed, it goes silent and the shuffle is stopped because the Ipod is apparently trying to play a song that isn't there anymore, or at least the sound isn't there. But the Ipod functions as if the song was still there and I have to manually skip to the next song. I don't know if this is just a Winamp problem, but there have been a few instances where I have been able to delete a song or an album successfully--song title, album art, etc. I didn't do anything differently either time,so that makes me question whether it is a Winamp player specific problem. I have tried deleting the material several ways also--by album, by artist, and even a whole double album one song at a time for the whole twenty songs. The main reason I bought an Ipod was because I loved my 5-disc carousel because of the shuffle mode and the Ipod was like having a 30-disc CD player, so it is annoying when these blank spaces "step on my buzz." Please help.

You have to use itunes to delet songs. Just right click on the song in itunes and press delete. Make sure you only delete the song from the ipod (which will show up on the left hand side of the screen and not from the main music folder.

SOURCE: apple ipod nano wont play the full song

First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the left, here's how you reset:

You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.

To delete files on your ipod, pull up iTunes. Find the songs and ect. you don't want on your ipod. There should be a box next to it that is checked. Simply unckeck the box. If you never want to see the songs and ect. ever again on your ipod or on iTunes, just right click on the song and ect. and press delete. Then once you plug your ipod up to the computer and sync it, they won't be on your ipod.

I hope this was helpful. Please rate this solution.

Hi there and welcome at Fixya, the support team (lfete)

I mean your iPod you can just insert it in the computer with the cable and the computer will install the driver :O) then you can see the storage in the Folder "My Computer". Open the drive and simply copy and paste the songs you want to have on it, you find the copy and paste function if you highlight a song and then right click on the mouse. Remember this !! you can copy more songs in once by holding the control (Ctrl) button down when selecting the songs with the mouse OR you can copy several songs after eachother by highlight the first song and then press "Shift" and highlight the last song.

you can also use iTunes to transfer your music :

You need to install iTunes on your computer. Here is the link:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ You connect your iPod to the computer and let iTunes sync it. You can create several playlists and then just drag & drop the playlists you created on the iPod.

first to delete a song from your computer you must have itunes installed the software on your computer. connect your ipod to computer via usb cable. then it will and should automatically update it and do an update. After the update go to the songs on your itunes it updated and uncheck the songs you dont want on your library playlist. disconnect your ipod and close out of itunes. connect your ipod via usb cable back to your computer and open itunes if it doesnt automatically. then it will update the songs that were on it and not the unchecked ones you dont want deleting them. glad to be of service. thanks!

How to delete songs off ipod shuffle 4gb

Just connect it to your dock, plug it into your pc (or mac) boot up itunes, and click in the left pane on your ipod. Then just go down the list and delete what you dont want.

You *do* need to have the dock, and a computer with itunes that the ipod is registered to. If you dont, the ipod will have to be completely erased.

I was given an Ipod 4gb 2nd gen. and I have I-tunes on my computer; there are over five hundred songs on this device, but none of the files show up on my computer anywhere. i can listen to the songs but...

the only way to get the songs of to save then is to use a program to rip the songs from you ipod to your computer such as CopyTransSuite
as for adding and deleting songs, whe the ipod mounts on itunes uncheck the automatically sync music button and you can ckick the music folder and delete by right clicking and delete
if the songs are in someone elses library, if you sync your ipod to your computer the songs will be deleted.
use caution...
hope this helps

Uncheck (make sure there isn't a tick in the box to their left) or delete (if you want to get rid of them permanently) the files you no longer want on your iPod in your iTunes library then re sync your ipod and the tunes you have selected wil be removed from your iPod.
