The Change Oil (not oil light) in my 2002 Camaro came on less than 10 miles after it left the shop for new brakes, and less than 300 miles since its last oil change. What would cause the change oil light to come on? Thanks.

If you changed your oil just less than three miles ago, you just need to reset the computer. In this vehicle it may be the same as other chevys. what you will need to do is turn the key to the run position. Depress on the gas pedal three times and turn off the key. this should reset the computer. good Luck

oil change

You have to reset the light according to the owner's manual.

If you don't have the owner's manual, try this:

Turn the ignition ON.

Press and hold the Trip/Reset button on the instrument panel for 12 seconds.

The light should flash and then go out. The system is reset.

If that doesn't work, comment back.
