Hello, is the drive now stuck won't eject with the button? if so try using paper clip in the tiny hole close to the eject button. take a paper clip and straighten it and then gently insert in tiny hole keeping straight and leveled, after is inserted in to drive about 3/4 of an inch you will feel little resistance and then gently press it to eject the drive manually.

I hope that what your question was, if not post back.

good luck
regards

The last 3 discs might be CD-RW which can be rewritten, but not all cd players will be able to read them. Just go to the store and buy some CD-R disks and re-burn the last 3 disks. That should solve your problem.

I AM A LAYMAN USING T43 IBM THINKPAD.CD/DVD DOES NOT WRITE BUT CAN RED.PL.ADVISE ( on the slot is written CD RW DVD ROM

If you are trying to write to a DVD, you should know that this drive does NOT record DVDs. It should record CDs with no problem. If you haven't changed the operating system, It should be a breese. Other wise, the drive could be bad.

Does not read Cds or DVDs

most sony CD and DVD players have a digital signature design to play CDs and DVDs that are original and licensed. some CDs or DVDs dont work since the player does not recognize or scan any digital signature embedded in the CD or a DVD. 2nd, lens problem causes most players not to read CDs nor DVDs. you can try to buy CD or DVD lens cleaners to have your lens cleaned.

I cannot hear sound system play cds and videos

Every CD/DVD-ROM drive has an audio port opened. An audio cable connects to the back side of the CD/DVD-ROM and connects to the motherboard. Most MB's have two four pin audio ports, one slot white in color and a second black in color. As far as the CD/DVD-ROM not reading the disk. Make sure the disk is free from scratches; oils from you're fingers or just plain dust. Open the drawl and blow out the CD-ROM drive or buy a CD cleaner which will clean the internal laser. These days it’s hard to find a CD/DVD ROM drive with a warranty longer than 1 year. Most ppl buy a new one when it fails to read CD's.

I want to play mini cds in a standard slot drive in laptop.

You should notice in your cd tray a smaller cutout in the center. That is specifically for mini cds.

I want to play mini cds standard slot drive in laptop.

Since Philips has sold their name and US product lines to the junk dealer Funai, it might be available under their name now.
You could also purchase an external drive to expand your possibilities; they are on eBay for ~ $50 US.

Cd drive 3inch?

It seems that even though this is a slot-loaded DVD/CD-R drive that you can still eject manually by a button; the manual does not say it can take the smaller CDs but, it would seem odd that it would not.
