How to pair a Plantronics Explorer 245 Bluetooth headset and a Samsung Intensity...

To pair a Samsung Intensity cell phone with a Plantronics Explorer 245 headset, follow the 10 steps below:

1. Turn your cell phone on and your headset off.

2. On the Intensity, press the Menu button (the center round button) and from the main menu, go to Settings & Tools (in the bottom right corner).

3. Select item #3, Bluetooth Menu.

4. Select item #1, Add New Device.

5. If your Bluetooth radio is currently off, you'll be asked if you want to turn it on -- select Yes.

6. Turn on the Explorer headset. After a few seconds you should see either red and blue flashes or just blue flashes. If you see red and blue flashes, go on to step 7. If you see only blue flashes, hold the Call button down (the button on the side of the earpiece) for five or six seconds, until the LEDs begin to flash red and then blue.

7. On your cell phone, click OK on the screen telling you to place your device in discoverable mode.

8. The phone will search for Bluetooth devices in the area, and the Plantronics headset will appear at the top of the screen. It should be labeled "245Plantronics" or something similar. Once you see the headset appear on the screen, press the menu button to stop the search.

9. Press the menu button again to pair the two devices.

10. A message will appear once pairing has been completed, and you will be prompted to connect the phone to the headset. Select Yes.

The connection has now been established between the two devices, and you can use your Explorer 245 as a hands-free headset in conjunction with your cell phone. To see information about the headset (such as what services it offers, what its Bluetooth address is, or how long it has been paired to your phone) scroll down to its name on the phone's Bluetooth Menu and click the right option button to bring up the device's Options screen.

How do you get the ps3 to pick up the blue tooth head set

Pairing the Headset with the PS3
Before the Headset can be used with the PS3, the two devices must be ‘paired’ so they can communicate with each other. Use a gaming controller for this procedure and ensure that the Headset is powered on (flashing blue LED light) and that it is not being charged via USB cable.

1. Power on your PS3 console.

2. Within the “Settings” menu, press X on “Accessory Settings.”

3. Press X on the icon labeled: “Manage Bluetooth® Devices.”

4. Scroll down and press X on the icon labeled: “Register New Device.”

IMPORTANT: Depending on your model of the 8860 Bluetooth® Headset, your power button is either an oval shape with an icon of a circle with a line going through it (5a) or it is a button with a phone icon (5b). Please follow the appropriate next step depending on your model of the 8860.

5a. Once at the next screen, prepare the Headset to be paired with the PS3 by holding down the K1 button until the LED flashes Blue and Red (hold K1 approx 12 seconds).

5b. Once at the next screen, prepare the Headset to be paired with the PS3 by tapping the pairing button located next to the volume controls on the side until the LED flashes BOTH Blue and Red.

6. Once the Headset’s LED indicator is alternately flashing Blue and Red (indicating the Headset is ready to be paired), press X on “Start Scanning.”

7. Once Scan is complete, the PS3 will recognize all Bluetooth devices within range.

8. Locate “8860” from the list of available devices and press X on its icon to be prompted for a Pass Key

9. Enter 0000 (four zeros) as the Pass Key and press X on OK

10. You should then be taken to a new screen stating: “Register completed”

Trouble Shooting
Q. The PS3 is unable find the Headset.
A. If the Headset has been paired with another Bluetooth device, the PS3 will have trouble finding the Headset. Either remove the Headset from the paired device or turn off the Bluetooth power on the paired device.

Bluetooth pairing

Try the following:

a) Options->Bluetooth->Enable Bluetooth
b) switched on the Moto headset (blue light blinking)
c) options->bluetooth->add device
d) searching for devices....---> here it should find the headset and pair....

If it does not work do the following

After doing the above, do the following:
e). Start the headset. Start with the headset powered off, and hold the Call button for 10 seconds or so, until the light stays on. (Initially, the light will flash a few times before getting steady.) If the light is flashing, or if the light starts flashing anytime during steps f) through g), the headset is not in pairing mode, and this step (step e) must be repeated, again starting with headset powered off.

Select the Headset:
f.) Go back to phone, and select "[Look for Devices]." The phone starts searching for Bluetooth devices.
g). Once phone is finished searching, you get a list of one or more devices under the heading "Scan Results." Select the headset.
h). The next screen will read "Bond With ..headset." Select "Yes."
i). The next screen will be "Enter Bluetooth Passkey." Enter 0000 and select "OK." A screen will confirm pairing and connection. When the pairing is complete, the light on the headset will flash.
