Rolling horizontal (colored) lines instead of picture; audio OK

We have sound (on all channels), but instead of picture we have horizontal "rolling" colored lines. Is this something we can repair? Should a "pro" be contacted? Or will it cost more to fix than it's worth?

Rolling horizontal lines on 62" Mitsubishi

That problem is caused by failed Capacitors on the signal and FMT power boards. which is a very common problem for mitsubishi TVs. There are repair kits available for the V26 dlp which contain the capacitors and instructions on how to do the repair. Heres a link check under the repair kits category.

Dark picture on RCA Scenium 61 in DLP

Yes, the lamp will gradually get darker as it nears it's end. The rolling lines sounds more like the set is on a local channel for the cable hook up. If your local area has a channel 3 or 4 live terestrial broadcast simply tune the cable box output to the other one, the same for the tv.
If this is cable/local broadcast issue it will go away in Febuary when the NTSC broadcast ends.
