Only prints last page or least few pages of a ulti page document

I am using my Lexmark X7170 with my new HP laptop with Windows Vista. When I print a email or most any other type of document it will only print the last page of that document. Most of the time I can go in and force it to print the first or 2d pages but i shouldnt have to do this. I want to be able to click print and get it to print all the pages at the same time.
thanks
John

some printers collate pages, which means they print from the last page to the first page. so that when you pick up the pages from the finished printing tray they are in order.

if you say it stops after the first page, there are a few possible reasons for this.
either you closed the application you were printing from before you finished printing (which sometimes cancels the printing job)
or the computer decided it wanted to cancel the printing on its own, this can happen if the printer has sometimes an error, this error or cause could be a lag between the data transfer to the printer.

try printing without collating the pages, while keeping the application/document open.

and make sure you have the latest drivers.

Is your printer setup to print "wireless"? Does it have a wireless card in it? You may need to try hooking it up to a wireless router to be able to printer from your laptop.

My Lexmark X9575 also only prints the 1st page

Hello,

I would try a postscript print driver. First, delete the current print driver and install the latest updated driver from the Lexmark website. Once you do that, try to print a document and see if that works.

Lexmark x3650 not printing after installation with my vista lapto

You can lastly try a hard reset of the printer but if that is to no avail the printer has an issue with it. See if you can get it to work with another computer for the heck of it just to make sure.

Lexmark X1150 only prints first page

I have an x4550, running windows vista basic on an hp dv6000t notebook. i had the same problem. i contacted online lexmark tech and here's the solution that worked for me, thanks to help from lexmark (transcript of chat):

Please follow the steps given below to change the spool data format:
1. Click on "Start," "Control Panel," "Hardware and Sound" and "Printers."
2. Then, right click on the Lexmark printer icon and left click "Properties."
3. Either on the "Advanced" tab or the "General" tab for some models, there is a "Print Processor" button, left click it.
4. This is the spool format setting. It should be set to the default to "LEMF." Change it to "Lexmark." Under "Default datatype," select "NT EMF 1.008."
5. Click "OK" and exit back out to your desktop.
6. Please try printing again.
