Can I use an hp 8gb secure digital memory card in nikon4600 cam

The girl at the store told me this hp memory card would work on my camera, but when I put it in the camera says "this card cannot be used". Is there something I can do to make it work? Or is the girl at the store wrong?

1. Make sure the slide switch on the side of the card is in the unlocked position. 2. Insert the card. Go into the menu and scroll to "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

Where can I get a card

Your hp photosmart m417 can use a secure digital (sd) memory card or a multimedia memory card (mmc), per manufacturer specifications.
Probably obtainable from local camera stores, computer stores, or via Ebay.

I have a Jazz HDV180 digital camcorder and it takes a 8GB memory card. I put a 8GB HP memory card in and it says no card. I have formatted the memory card.

Try checking your manuel for specifically named memory card, sometimes certain cameras can only take certain memory card formats.
Hope this helps.

I just inserted a 8 MB card in and the camera says "Memory card needs formatting" I click continue, then it says "Formatting will delete everything on the memory card", no problem, it's a new card so I...

8MB or 8GB? If it's actually an 8MB card, you'll be able to put maybe two or three pictures on it, so I'll assume it's an 8GB card.

The DX4530 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into SD devices, there are electronic difference that prevent them from working there. SD cards will work in SDHC devices but not the other way around.

You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Sd card not recognizable

I read the following spec for your camera: Recording Media Internal Flash Memory 64MB Video/Image
SD/SDHC Up To 32GB Video/Image
So, I think that an 8 GB SD card should work.

Try another capacity and brand to make it work.

Can a pentax optio S5i support a 8GB memory card? Do I need to download a driver to support an 8GB memory card/

No the Pentax Optio S5i does not support an 8gb memory card.

8gb would be an SDHD card, the S5i came out before SDHD so it does not support them.

Standard Secure Digital Cards come up to 4GB in size so you could use one of these. The highest standard card I have is 2gb and that is fine in mine.

My S5i locks up if you put an SDHD card in.

The only firmware update that Pentax supply does not effect this, SDHD needs different hardware.

Inserting either a 4Gb or 8Gb SD card results in a "Memory Card Error".

The S4 accepts SD and MMC cards. SD cards max out at 2Gb. The 4Gb and 8Gb cards are actually SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards, not SD cards, and thus will not work in devices designed for SD cards. Compatibility goes only one way--SD cards will work in SDHC devices but not the other way around.

I want to purchase an additiional memory card for a trip. Looking at SDHC 8GB memory card and it indicates "Card is compatible with SDHC Devices only" I don't know what this means. Are they compatible?...

sorry but the sdhc card wont work for that model... that type of mem card only works for compact cameras ( think higher/latest cam models).. so dont buy it, you will only get errors when u use it for ur camera and even if u format it over and over put it in put it out in out, still wont work

sdhc- high capacity memory card

Reformatting sd memory card for canon camera an 8gb card and it told me I coudn't print pictures on my HP photosmart 380 series printer unless I reformatted my memory card??

If your camera is indeed an SD200, am sorry to say an 8GB SDHC will not work in this camera. The camera will fail to recognize it, and will do this by giving various problems as you've run into. The overall problem is that the camera was designed before the SDHC format came out (SDHC cards although the exact same in appearance are different in format than standard SD cards). The largest size card that the SD200 will recognize is a 2GB standard SD card.

Memory cards

You may be able to store up to 110 images if you use the camera in its lowest resolution mode. In high resolution, you may get only 24 shots. We wish we could tell you precisely, but it depends on the exact size of the file created by a given camera, as well as the resolution that you select. Keep in mind that Secure Digital, CompactFlash, and SmartMedia memory cards are competing products and are not interchangeable. You'll find a few cameras that are compatible with more than one brand, but generally when you buy a digital camera today, you'll be making a commitment to work with one type of memory card. Use the attached chart to determine the average number of photos that Secure Digital memory cards can store (compatible with most HP digital cameras)
