The scanner requires a minimum size of paper. The time required for feeding and the distance between rollers decide this size.

The top left "hinge" won't seat, therefore the top feed can't be used to fax, scan or copy.

It's possible that the hinge of the scanner cover broke. If that's the case, you won't be able to scan from the ADF (Auto Document Feeder). If the printer is still under warranty, please call our technical support team to have the printer replaced.

Every time I scan documents on my 1235cn, it puts THREE black lines through my entire scan. I have cleaned the screen and it still isn't working. it only happens when the scan feeds through the top, not...

Hello,

You have something on the document feeder scan window. Open the top of the scanner like you are going to scan a book or something large. At one end you should see a section that is separate from the main glass. This section is where the document feeder scan the pages. Use a soft cloth with glass cleaner sprayed on the cloth to scrub the windows and the white strip above on the cover that you opened up. Here is the link to our tip page on Fixya with a picture of the scan window.

This should get you back printing and scanning again.

We hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Feeds many papers in the upper scan area

Depending of how many scans made your machine there may be three possible reasons:
1) the scaner cover it is not firmly closed
2) paper feed roller is dirty (clean it)
3) paper feed roller it is used and should be replaced

On a Canon MP 460 printer, the paper will not feed in straight causing constant paper jams.

If the paper feed roller is dirty, paper is not fed properly because the paper feed roller slips. Cleaning the paper feed roller could resolve the paper feeding problem. Please follow the instructions below to clean the Paper Feed Rollers directly from the unit.Caution: Since the cleaning process wears down the paper feed roller, perform this procedure only when necessary and no more than three (3) times.
  1. Ensure that the printer is powered on and remove any paper from the Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF).

  2. Press the <Menu> button.

  3. Use the right / left cursor button to select [Maintenance/settings], then press <OK>.

  4. Use the right / left cursor button to select [Maintenance], then press <OK>.

  5. Perform the paper feed roller cleaning three times.
    1. Use the up / down cursor button to select [Roller cleaning], then press <OK>.

    2. When prompted to start roller cleaning, use the up / down cursor button to select [Yes], then press <OK>. (The paper feed roller cleaning starts.)

    2. Use the up / down cursor button to select [Roller cleaning], then press <OK>.

Only scans one page ata a time it says it can't recognize paper for ADF

The bulb has nothing to do with the paper feeder.
Open the door and ther has three or to tires or rubbers so clean them with glass cleaner or 98% alcohol if after that dose not feed again you should replace the feed rubbers
