Forgot password on the restrict volume

Ok...my sister did sumthin on my zen v...she set the password on the restrict volume but then she forgot. i read the manual and it says that i should turn my mp3 off ,open it then clean my battery??well..im scared to open mine and im not very gud fixing things..is there any other way to solve my problem?please help me...im begging..please!tenx..

I have solution !!! You must turn up player!!!
then TURN ON WHILE HOPLDING PLAY BUTTON !!!!!!!

Then a screen goes on !!!!
You must choose CLEAN UP THEN REBOOT !!!


THEN IF IT DONT WORKED!!
THEN YOU NEED TO CHOOSE CLEAN UP THEN FORMAT THEN REBOOT !!!!

    the clean up worked instantly took less than a minit to do it all and reboot with out restriction makes like 80% difference to sound thanks so much saved me binning it and crying :D

I had the same problem, and i solved it by reloading the firmware. u do it like this:

  • Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player.
  • When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button

    • Select Reload OS/ Firmware. U will need to download the firmware from creative's download section so u can put it back into the Zen.

    I forgot my password too but i don't want to reverse it i want to take it off!
    * Turn the volume down to 0
    * Change to a blocked channel (where it asks for V-Chip password)
    * On the TV (not from the remote) hold the volume down button
    * (While holding volume on TV) hold the '0' key on the remote for between 2-10 seconds...
    * The screen should unlock, and you should save no V-Chip restrictions.
    You can now use your manual to find out how to set the restrictions you want."

    How to break volume restriction password ZEN XFI 2 ?
    Boot the ZVM into Recovery Mode and select Cleanup from the menu. This will reset any user defined settings, including the passwords.
    To boot the player into Recovery Mode, do the following:
    1. Insert a paperclip, earring stud, or other slender, unbreakable item into the reset hole located at the bottom of the player to press the reset button inside. You should feel a "click" when you've pressed the button. Press and hold the reset button.
    2. While holding the reset button, slide the power switch toward the power icon and hold it there. Let go of the reset button.
    3. When the Zen bootscreen appears, release the power switch.

    Forgot password to remove restrict volume setting
    Hi you will have to format your player and reinstall the firmware so the player will be like it was from the factory. That will wipe on the password you set and you can just reset it to what you want.

    Hi there, I have a creative zen vision m 2006 , when I bought it I entered a password for restrict volume control, but I forgot it,I tried to reset it in player settings..>protected content password to...
    I have the same Creative Zen as you have, I never set a password but I can't get the volume higher than 25. I think 25 is just the maximum.

    Here is a quicker solution if you have already chosen Europe?

    Well, thanks to my investigations I have found there is a solution. Pressing reset will not work and installing new f/w is a pain.

    Instead, open your S9 system folder, and simply delete the "PARAM" file. Power off. Power up. (There is no need to change firmware at all).

    You are back at the original screen. 1. Choose your language. 2. Next DO NOT CHOOSE THE EUROPE setting. 3. Third, choose your radio setting - any will do.

    Volume too low on zen
    Try going to System>Audio Settings>Restrict Volume on your ZEN. This is a password protected feature for parental controls i guess... If this doesn't work, get a hearing aid : )

    push and hold the power button and at the same time prss the play button....a system recovery window eill pop up and select the first optiom "clean up" then turn it off and on again and its done!

    "If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."
